try the ek0p shaman deck I posted earlier in this thread, it has just the right amount of balance between being an aggro and control deck and the legendaries (Thalnos and Ragnaros) are easily replaceable with a Novice Engineer/Geomancer and a Stormwind Champion

Yep. But they're doing away with tiers for a ladder system. Win and you get a star, lose and you lose a star (at higher ranks). Get enough stars and they'll increase your rank. Ladder is reset once a month. Ladder will probably be implemented in a month.

I think I'll get much more satisfaction out of Ranked Play after the new system is in place, because as of right now, it's just annoying as fuck to try and build a deck and not have the cards for it. I've just been doing straight Arena, which will solve said problem through packs of cards, but still annoying.

Hopefully it'll give you a better indication of where you are. Because you really can't tell now. I was glancing over the official forums yesterday and someone posted an "80% Win Rate in Masters 3" deck, I looked it over and it was fucking terrible absolutely 0 card draw, none of the solid staples you would want in a deck. I didn't have to try it to know I wouldn't even win 50% of my games with it then it dawned on me, this guy probably got masters 3 early in beta and has tanked his mmr since then and is probably playing gold players.

So shaman's are pretty good as a control deck?
Don't normally play shamans, druids, or hunters, and those were the 3 picks I had for Arena. Chose shaman, and went through and made a deck. Lost 2 in a row, and I was like F shamans! Not sure if I've just been lucky but I've since won the last 3 games in a row, just out controlling my opponent.
I do have 2 Dark Iron Dwarfs, 2 Shattered Sun Clerics, 2 Lightning Storms, forked, lightning, etc. but after losing the first 2 I'm pretty surprised.
Edit: I just out controlled a priest, who played 3 Holy Nova's, and MC. Damn that felt good.

Apparently in EU Shaman are considered top-tier in constructed and arena. They are tier 2 in NA for both. I've been playing around with them and I think it really comes down to correctly manipulating your overload mechanic to really get their paces out of them, but you can just play the standard "neutral high value-minion" deck with Flametongue/Windfury/Bloodlust/Rockbiter/Etc. and they still do very well, so you can ignore the overload cards almost entirely if you want to (the direct damage spells are worth it as sweepers/finishers).

I got a 2nd one today as well, the email said it was a promotional one tied to beta testing the battle.net app, whereas the first email suggested it was from the opt-in. Format is different between them, but mostly it's just a bunch of filler text around the big beta code in the center.
