I got a 2nd one today as well, the email said it was a promotional one tied to beta testing the battle.net app, whereas the first email suggested it was from the opt-in. Format is different between them, but mostly it's just a bunch of filler text around the big beta code in the center.
Just re read it and ya, it's for using the battle.net app. Funny thing is, the only reason I use it is because it's required to use it for hearthstone.

Yep. But they're doing away with tiers for a ladder system. Win and you get a star, lose and you lose a star (at higher ranks). Get enough stars and they'll increase your rank. Ladder is reset once a month. Ladder will probably be implemented in a month.
Have they said anything what will happen with our current ranks or will they wipe them next patch? Not that the current ranks matter in anyway.

Current ranks go away AFAIK. In the ladder system, everyone starts at rank 25 (angry chicken) and works their way up.

Not even sure you can still rank up. I went 25-1 just now and still at 3-star Platinum. I may have screwed my MMR when I was playing with terrible decks though.

More anecdotal evidence, but I had a 7 game winning streak and didn't budge from 1-star diamond. That jerk rogue deck mures posted earlier is pretty amazing.

Yesterday I hit 3 star master with my warrior deck after total of 36 wins. I didn't really count but I have maybe something like 7-10 losses. Sounds pretty weird if you went 25-1 and didn't rank up. I haven't played anything else in ranked mode thou.

I ranked from 3 star platinum --> one star master with a 70% win rating last night.

@Mures - I played around and tweaked this deck some. I actually had a lot of fun playing this and used it to grind up to masters, these are the changes I made below:

Spells:
Shadowstep x2
Backstab x 2
Deadly Poison x 2
Eviscerate x 2

Minions:
Assasins Blade
Youthful Brewmaster
Novice Engineer x 2
Loot Hoarder
Raid Leader
Defias Ringleader x 2
Bloodmage Thalnos
Edwin VanCleef
Harvest Golem
Shattered Sun Cleric x 2
SI-7 Agent x 2
Dark Iron Dwarf x 2
Defender of Argus
Azure Drake
Argent Commander x 2
Stormwind Champion
I took out some of the doubles and added shadowstep which imo is OP as hell. If you roll a shadowstep and the coin you can use a Defias Ringleader on 1m have it summon his minion and then shadowstep it and have it resummon another minion for free. Same goes for 2m with the brewmaster. For some reason I tend to roll a shadowstep and a ringleader often on opening and coming out of the gate with 3 minions all at 2 attack is pretty awesome.

Regarding shadowstep, I used to think that shadowstepping a novice engineer was awesome, since card draw is awesome. But all you're really doing is replacing that shadowstep with another card and not getting anything else out of it. If you can kill a 1/1 minion before shadowstepping, it's better, but not a very common situation considering all the 2/3 attack minions in the early game which would kill an engineer.

But anyways, there's plenty of other things in this deck with battlecries to shadowstep. Clerics, iron dwarves, defenders of argus, and argent commanders are pretty great targets.

Glad the deck it working out for people, I haven't even tried it myself tbh.

@Krassus I do like shadowstep and with a deck full of battlecry effects it makes sense. However, I personally prefer the dire wolf over raid leader, but that is a common and not basic like the raid leader. Reasons I prefer dire wolf is, with how easy it is to remove minions in the game I was rarely noticing it effectively buffing more than 2 minions anyway. So I can effectively get the same effect out of dire wolf for one less cost and I really dislike the raid leader only being 2 toughness for a 3 drop, this means just about every other 3 drop trades with him and lives. Dire wolf being the only 2 drop you have isn't always the worst thing, but if a raid leader is the only 3 drop you have in your hand, you're boned.

With that deck you linked I usually at the three will play shattered sun clerics or + weapon hero skill and deadly poison also. Raid leader I like to use once a swarm is out or as a priority at 3 if I shadowstepped the ringleaders and already have 5 minions out by turn 3.

I built a paladin deck using the same kind of respawn an add trick I want to play around with tonight instead of shadowstep I put redemptions in and swapped out the minions who spawn minions for ones with deathrattles that spawn adds like the harvest golem. I think everyone knows the priest ones but my newbie ass is just starting to learn these other ones with other classes. I got killed by quite a few buffed northshire clerics, lightspawns, and lightwells with those insane buffs that make em 18/18+ quickly.

Warriors have used some kind of crazyness to rush me down I couldnt counter, dont know them well so I dont remember. I also got worked by a heavy removal but heavy overload minion shaman that was buffing the overload pets with windfury and also pulled that 3/1 windfury tornado pet on round 1.

I'd love to hear about more tricks / tactics with some of the other classes have more of you seasoned guys are using, they are great for having a base to build a deck around to level.

Raid leader is a pretty terrible card in the deck. It runs contrary to what the rest is about - undercosted cards that don't require specific board conditions to be good. Compare it with Shattered Sun Cleric if you will. Since you will almost always have one other minion, the Cleric is effectively a 4/4 for 3. Raid leader with 1 other minion is effectively a 3/2 for 3. It is worse than the SSC unless you have 4 other minions on the board, making it effectively a 6/2 for 3, but if you have 4 minions on the board you are probably winning anyway.

In this deck, Raid Leader is either an overcosted (bad) minion, or just a "win more" card that only helps you if you would win anyway. Don't play the card unless you are running some sort of aggro mass minion deck, it's bad.

Divine shield minions are also very powerful combo with redemption because they come back with divine shield. Scarlett crusader is very powerful and argent commander with charge and divine shield is deadly. If the shield is already knocked off and redemption up you can trade with argent commander, he'll come back to life with divine shield and charge so you can attack with him a second time that turn.

Warlock, Rogue, or Priest are my Arena picks right now... not sure what to choose. Getting tired of Priest, honestly, but Arena is too random for the other 2 to be any good? I don't know.

Edit: LOLOL! I chose warlock, and I got out a summoning portal. Allowed Turn 5 or 6 War Golem + Sunfury Protector to get a few taunts on the board. Next turn I fill it up with a Pitlord, Spellbreaker (to silence his 3/3 bear taunt), and I'm at 19 life, he's at 21 life, and he concedes. LOL

I'd say stay away from Rogue if you don't have much experience with them, but they can be powerful if you know what you're doing. For any class, the first 10 cards you pick defines your deck and you should choose the next 20 based on that idea. But for Rogues specifically, there's a fine synergy on minions/spells/weapons that you need to hit to be effective. For other classes, it feels like you can just grab whatever's good in the draft.

Warlock is a pretty great arena class though. Great removal spells, all the 1 cost demons are great, and their hero power is really good during the early/mid game.

Rogue is still good. Warlock has been 50-50 for me so far, either great or terrible. You don't really need all that much more synergy with rogue in arena because you shouldn't go for some crazy shadowstep combodeck. Just go for solid picks and hope you get deadly poisons, evis, assassinate, backstabs etc to supplement.
