yup, was a beat down. So the coins thing on Amazon they were just mentioning is a decent deal if you were ever gonna spend $$$$ hearthstone.

Who needs Grim Patrons? That was a Frothing I played from hand that turn. Granted I almost killed it BMing him, I totally wasn't paying attention to how much damage it had taken.

I just started playing mill rogue for the first time. Managed to win against an aggro hunter by ganging up healbots, shadow stepping healbots, brewmastering healbots, and vanishing healbots. I swear I played healbot about 8 times.

ChallengeStone was a really, really good watch. The invited players were Lifecoach, Strifcro, Chakki, Brian Kibler, Trump, Xixo, Savjz, and Hyped and the format was each player was given 20 minutes to build three decks to play with a specific set of restrictions. The restrictions for this first event were no creatures with even power (as written on the card) and no spells with odd mana costs. Weapons are not spells or creatures and are unrestricted. The casters were Kripp and Artosis and before each round you got to see the two players build their three decks with the footage sped up 100% (10 ten minutes).

The decks were interesting, the casting was very good, and at no point in time did it feel like anyone was wasting time. From top to bottom I was surprised at how good the whole thing was. Semi-finals are tomorrow.

Turned out better than I thought it would. Definitely think trump and kibler have the best decks so far.

No clue why the board for BRM isn't used, especially now that it's completely released

Been getting real salty lately with this game. Might need to step away for a while. Past couple months I reside around 11-7 on the ladder (average about 4.5 wins in Arena, so overall, not great, but not bad). This month I'm around 15 and getting really pissed off at both the RNG and the imbalance between decks. I dislike the fact that I could rank up easily if I played Zoo, Mech Mage, or a couple other decks, but outside of that, it's a struggle. I'm not the type of person who can play one deck for long stretches - it's the variety that keeps it interesting to me, but right now variety is getting stomped. I guess simple answer is if I'm getting pissed more than having fun, then I should stop playing. Unfortunately, there are alot of cards I still need, so I'll probably keep grinding away in a perpetual state of frustration.

After taking a short break of Hearthstone, except for beating all the wings and getting the new cards and just getting to 19 for the card backs, I started again today.

Make my first new deck with the new cards, I made a kinda strange somewhat unfocused Mage deck that I though would be fun but not necessary great. After a few games in casual to see how it worked and to tweak it a bit...I went on a 15 win streak, the last 7 being in ranked since it was working so well. I'm still undefeated with it.

As I said it's unfocused and trying to do too many thing but it's working amazingly well, it's sort of a tempo Mage, with flame walkers, dragons, secrets. It's way fun to play as it does so many things. I think in all 15 games, I've been below 20 life only once.

I run the same deck and its not great in the current meta. Zoo and face hunter aren't great matchups.

tried arena again today, first run was a warlock I thought would of been better(2-3). 2nd I've drafted but don't even want to play it honestly, and its a mage.

I have a hard time with zoo even on my control warrior these days. Imps. Imps everywhere.

Yeah, the new Zoo is very resilient. It's a really tough matchup for me but I do have better success on my control warrior. Tempo mage is pretty much auto lose though.

Zoo has always been resilient, that has been it's big strength and is why people stopped playing Murlock. Murlock goldfishes even faster than facehunter, but it's so easy to disrupt and has a lot of trouble recovering. Just took some time for people to find their way back to Zoo after the Undertaker nerf.

TIL fatigue goes through iceblock oh well. Epic fight I would have won if it didn't

at least I'm getting better at freeze mage. I just auto-concede to warriors to save time.

You have a reasonably fair chance against patron so I'd at least play out a couple turns to see what they are. Control warrior is like 90-10 in their favor, maybe 95-5 so yeah conceding is best.

If you want to rank up you really need to pick a deck and stick with it for a season. Learn all the ins and outs until you pilot it expertly. Any reasonably competitive deck will wash out enough RNG to go over 50% win rate, 60%+ if you have some luck or it matches up well with the current meta. If you want to keep switching it up and experimenting then you have to accept that your grinding will happen in the teens rather than consistently gaining rank. Just think of it as leveling and farming wins for eventual portraits. I can't stand the grind after rank five so I just keep doing dailies and grinding classes. I like learning all the popular decks, whatever rank I end up is fine.

I sympathize with the salt though, this game draws it out like no other. So many bullshit luck events and it always seems you have ten go against you for every crazy one in your favor that makes you cackle like a madman.

Yeah, I hear what you are saying. Part of the frustration for me is that I tend to prefer the counter-punching control style (pulling victory from the jaws of defeat), but have a much easier time winning with more aggressive decks. After struggling the past couple days with various control decks, I played Mid Hunter this morning and went an easy breezy 6-1. It seems fair to say that in the current meta aggro decks have an advantage. The other factor I've found is that I don't get as angry when I lose quick matches while playing aggro (mech mage or zoo for example). I can usually tell early on if it's not going my way. I take the quick loss more in stride and move on. This leaves me in the position of playing what I like and dealing with more losses while trying not to get too pissed off or playing easier-to-win-with aggro decks. First world problems!
