Always fun when some faggot rogue god draws and clears your board of a Chromaggus and a 4/10 twilight drake while also dealing 17 damage to you and having the second eviscerate for lethal next turn after you clear his board.

Been seeing a bit of that but evened out when a Patron Warr god drew but still misplayed his deck a bit. Still almost beat me but Jaraxxus saved my ass. That and a perfect hit with my only implosion(since removed). He died of fatigue and I still had ten cards in my deck. Unbelievable.

Trying to get into HS to occasionally pass the time during the day. Seems like a massive grind (hi2u Blizzard) to get anywhere. My card selection is absolute crap and everything from packs has been absolute crap. I'd really rather not spend real money to get cards, but I'd like to have some fun too. I guess....play ranked for 50g a day and then play arena every 3 days? Woot.
I know you don't want to spend money but even $30 (considering the game itself is free) can help a ton for new players - 22 packs is more than enough to get you up and running.

I think the best bang for your buck would be buying Naxx. A number of those cards see regular play and can really help a new collection.

25 bucks for Naxx is definitely better than 25 bucks worth of random boosters. Probably true about Blackrock as well, but there's no question for Naxx.

Do you guys mean the Naxx/Blackrock adventure thing and the car rewards at the end? Or, does it provide more than just the ones at the end, as you go through it?

I ranked up to 19 today and as soon as I hit the teens, I was up against a lot of cards that were much higher caliber than what I have opened so far. I went from a 7 win streak in the first 7 games to 1-5 in the next 6.

You get something like 30 cards for completing it, and there's a lot of good ones in the set.

I made a face hunter with cards and stuff to play the brawl. I won and now I am done for a week. Huzzah or something.

Yep. As you beat bosses and other special challenges, you are awarded the cards. It's like 21 neutrals including some legendaries plus 9 class cards. Some like Haunted Creeper, Sludge Belcher, and Loatheb are used in tons of decks. Other stuff might be more situational, but would still be very useful for a new player.

Be aware that once a day after a new quest is added you can choose one quest to replace at random by clicking the X on the top right of its portrait. Cycling the 40 gold quests into 60/100/pack speeds things up decently. I play to kill time like you originally mentioned you wanted to do and after a few months I've unlocked Naxx and Blackrock + a couple dozen packs without paying anything. If you feel like your cards are holding you back from having fun, you'll easily end up having to spend 100+ bucks to fix that.

Been playing since January and didn't know that. Thanks for pointing it out. I had assumed that the red X was to cancel a quest if your log was full or something.

Make a hunter deck and you will have fun for a bit. It's the class that benefits most from the RnG system and is the cheapest and easiest to build. I would buy Naxx just because many of the cards are staples, it gives you something else to do in Hearthstone, and I enjoyed it even if it was short lived. Even the cards that aren't competitive can give you some fun deck ideas.

Tried that for today's quest and it ended up being another 40g dud. Oh well.

LOL, gotta love when someone purposefully rope burns starting turn 1 so you also let the rope burn and then they start playing immediately.

Edit - Even sweeter when I had an oil rogue god draw game.

The best is when they purposely rope burn the first few turns and then get connection issues. Oh, being a douche? Well, thanks for the easy win!

Maybe they were just having connection issues to begin with and not intentionally rope burning? I've played more than once on my phone with a spotty connection, force quit the game to try to get back in, and see that I lost a star. Not everyone is trying to BM
