This brawl reminds me of my early MtG where you buy those shitty premade decks except one makes sense/has synergy and the other is complete shit but has lots of "zombies/goblins/multi-color" creatures so the theme fits.

I can already see Coldara Control being a thing for Mage.
Turn 9-> Coldara Drake + Frost Nova
No answer?
Turn 10-> Maiden of the Lake + Kodo Warcaller + 3x 3/5s. Then next turn if you can't wipe the board of a 6/6, 4x 3/5s and a 2/6, then you have 10 mana crystals worth of 3/5s to refill the board each time.

How is that better than freeze mage, echo, or ErA's control mage? Maiden of the Lake is garbage unless you combo it with something and Kodo Warcaller is mediocre. So you've used a 4 card 2 turn combo to flood the board with creatures. Freeze Mage would be using their combo to win the game instead of stack the board, echo stacks the board with giants, and ErA control wins through attrition by extracting maximum value out of the cards.

The real question is what effect Twilight Guardian and possibly Coldarra Drake will have on Kibler's Dragon Mage, and what effect Twilight Guardian will have on dragon decks in general.

Random spell summoner guy gets played. I get sense demons, opponent gets pyroblast...

Sorry, guess I didn't combo it with something amazing enough for you. I would think a board of limitless 3/5s and a hero power that costs 1 usable infinitely was good enough, but not for Gavin!
Just an idea, Inspire seems way overpowered with classes like handlock or mage.

I think the Mage deck is better, but Lock and Load seems to be the equalizer. I've seen that card go berserk plenty of times already.

Playing against Patron feels so hopeless sometimes.

You know what you're facing.

You know what the winning conditions of the deck are.

You have a good hand, decent draw, your deck plays well.

You try to play around it as best as you can.

And still, it fucking happens and you wonder what you could have done differently, and can't find anything.

At least playing against face hunter or other aggro is quick.
I've pretty much given up the moment they drop Emp with a full hand,

Control Mage with Emperor and Coldarra Drake/Maiden of the Lake/Fallen Hero/Saraad and Frost Giant could be a pretty damn good deck... potentially.

It could be fun, and maybbbbbeeeee competitive, is the key. I'm all for fun decks where I can get at least a 50% win rate :p

The Jousters are a bit crap to be honest. This is probably a concept that will fleshed more in a later expansion.

I think the big winners so far from this expansion look to be shamans and warriors.

Yeah, the jousts just don't seem to be great. Even if you are 60/40 to win, the effect is just not really enough to balance the uncertainty. I guess the show cards mechanic is kinda interesting though. Inspire actually might make for some interesting decks, provided you are a class that uses HP all the time anyhow.

Went 3-0 on the Mage (had the daily) and 1-0 on Hunter (got lucky). Insta-conceded three Hunters just to draw the Mage for the daily though. No question at all that Mage is much better for this brawl regardless.

Mage opponent got Ancestral Spirit from Spellslinger and then popped it on Rhonin after I just cast Acidmaw and Unleash. GG.

My god Armored Warhorse is the biggest piece of overcosted shit ever.

As we all knew it would be: Joust is a piece of shit. The shit is so bad unless you win the Joust, so if you lose a couple Jousts, you are done, gg, cya later. The extra cost for the stats isn't worth the risk, considering how small the advantage of winning is and how huge the tempo loss of losing is. What a piece of shit concept. We won't see more than 1 Joust card used in competitive decks, if that, guaranteed.

Mage is far away better and I should have just insta- conceded as well. 5 hunter matches and 2 mage matches later I get my weekly pack. 100 dust might have been worth it.

On another note, got 50 packs and hoping they give me most of what I need from this set. This set already feels like GvG on that front.

Maybe you could try to defend your deck concept instead of crying when someone criticizes it?

I believe I told Fawe his Lock and Load/Ram Wrangler idea was bad, and instead of throwing a temper tantrum, he came back with a decklist that I agreed was worth playtesting. Although after actually playing with it, I'm pretty sure lock and load is garbage. If it was hunter spells only, it might be good because there are some good removal spells in hunter that you wouldn't maindeck but absolutely wouldn't mind getting for free in the middle of a match. Getting a metaltooth leaper out of lock and load isn't exactly thrilling.

I agree that Lock and Load is total garbage. That means I'll get 5 of them out of my 50 packs.

Already having around 35-40% of my Hunter opponents instant concede, the same way it is with Rag/Nef. Good gold farms.

And yeah, so glad I didn't pre order. My 6000 dust and 3000 gold will do just fine. This set is very mediocre. GvG was far better. Frost Giant sure is one of the awesome cards though.

Edit: Woulda been really cool if instead of just allowing you to pointlessly shoot arrows at the target, if they had a bow on the other side of the board that you had to move around and aim. Although I did manage to hit the target dummy with an arrow, but I can't figure out how I did it.
