Seems like Justicar Trueheart and Varian Wrynn are the best legends? Maybe Chillmaw in 3rd?

With this variant you will lose to mech mage, most rogues, the more agressive/card drawn mid range pally with cult master, murloc knights etc

Everything else is either favorable, and in case of warrior is a 50% win rate.Although my tracker says I'm winning those matchups.

It is impossible to lose against any shaman with this deck.

If you run into a bunch of mech mages, and the other variant of pally switch to the cult master version.

Mulligan for the dream in all these pally decks. Zombie chow>Shielded mini bot>Aldor peacekeeper>muster of battle> Removal.

The way the meta has shaken out you will win every one of your Jousters. So keep that in mind. If you mulligan-ed correctly you will get 100% value from Mysterious challenger, and that is where the real fun begins.

Yeah using Challenger to thin 2-3 cards out of your deck seems pretty solid, and it's not like paladin secrets gum up your hand if you do happen to draw into them. I might try that list, although I'm not crafting Eadric.

Still trying to judge if my guess about the long term viability of Saraad was right. I just got burned pretty bad by drawing a demonfuse, but two games previously he got me an ice barrier which won me the game.

Alright, first legendary crafted. Just lost to a control warrior I outplayed because he played justicar turn 6 so its required if you don't want to auto-lose the mirror match up.

Yesterday was a control player's dream since everyone was testing shit and there were hardly any aggro decks (that I experienced in over 30 games played).

Today is a different story it seems. Only 2 games so far but both were practically identical Paladin Token/Inspire decks using the murloc dude and stuff.

I'm 1-1 of the 2 games, but sensing the change in meta I immediately changed my Warrior deck to have 2x Revenge and 2x Brawl (from 1x Each) before the 2nd game. I'm going to value board clears a heck of lot more atm, there's just too much board flood right now when you consider all the Paladin decks, Totem Shamans and even Varian Wrynn in Control Warrior.

Control decks either need a fantastic early game or stock up on really good board clears.

Dragon priest actually seems like a really good meta deck atm from what I've been seeing. The curve is so good and they get such huge early taunters with Wyrmwrest+Velen's into the 3/6 Dragon etc.

Is chillmaw used in these decks to counter patron solely? Ive fought zero patrons so far and im not sure if its worth crafting chillmaw if thats his only use (like a tech card), though I am really enjoying playing dragon priest and warrior decks.

He might not be necessary but he is a big taunter with a Hellfire attached. I'd say he's not included just to counter Patrons but to counter Aggro in general. You might find better alternatives. Honestly there's not going to be a "right" answer atm. There's way too much variety and you'll never be able to counter everything.

If you're playing dragon priest and warrior I don't see why not, he's just good in that he is a good dragon in the 7 slot.

Mures hit it on the head. I wouldn't just randomly toss him in as a 7 drop in a control deck, but you'd probably want him if you're playing dragon.

Repeating myself, but Mistcaller along with Healing Wave to draw out games so that you get more Mistcaller value seems pretty powerful. Not sure if it's enough to push Mid/Control Shaman to upper echelon, but it certainly helps. They seem to still suffer from lack of card draw.

This is my haul from the pre-purchase:

Legendary: Aviana, Icehowl

golden: healing wave x2, master jouster, boneguard lieutenant, druid of the saber, ice rager

I'm not much of a fan of Aviana, so thanks for nothing. At least I had two giants I guess? Gonna blow 7k gold on packs and see if I feel better about it then.

Edit:

Another 73 packs added Fjola Lightbane, Rhonin as legendaries and these golden cards: golden buccaneer, void crusher, tuskarr totemic, fallen hero, king's defender, mysterious challenger, dalaran aspirant, tuskarr jouster. Also, I only have 1 poly:boar after 123 packs. Only 4 legendaries on 123 packs seems kinda lame, too, but I dont know the expected averages.

So many people are desperately trying to get Shaman to work right now. They definitely got some love in the expansion but I'm still not convinced that they are top tier yet.

I'm playing around with my Tempo Mage a bit. I cut the two Mirror Entities for Effigy and took out Kezan Mystic for Poly: Boar. Effigy has been huge. If you can arrange things so that it triggers off of Loatheb or a Sludge Belcher you're going to get great value out of it. Poly: Boar I've only gotten to use once to Poly a Belcher and then kill it. It was my best play at the time. I haven't had any great swings with it yet but I'm still optimistic that it's earned a spot in my deck.

Yea, Shaman hasn't impressed me yet. I've played at least 4 totem shamans and won all of them. Haven't seen anyone play Mistcaller yet. I have Mistcaller and still don't want to try Shaman atm.

I just got hit with an Eadric the Pure on 4 minions followed by Tirion. I'm not sure how I feel about Eadric. Yes he neuters your opponent's minions but the bodies are still behind. And those bodies were a Mana Wyrm which could grow again, a Mad Scientist whose sole purpose in life is to die and get a secret into play, an Azure Drake where the card draw and spell power just as important as the 4/4 and a Piloted Shrdder who has a Death Rattle.

I won the game pretty handily by dropping Sniper Rag who took out both Eadric and Tirion. My opponent was forced to use Ashbringer on a Sludge Belcher with Effigy up.

Eh, effigy is a lot easier to play around than mirror entity. Control decks kill your cheapest creature, aggro decks just check for entity and then either attack face or trade into your cheapest creature, and since when does tempo mage run Belcher? The reason Mirror Entity is good is because it's completely independent of the board state. Duplicate is usually amazing value, but it's slow and sometimes you get screwed into duplicate mad scientists, or even sheep/frog. Mirror Entity is entirely dependent on their deck construction and current hand as to whether or not they can play around it.

I've been tinkering around with Bash in place of Shield Block, and while I like it, it really hurts to lose your only cycle cards in a deck so thirsty for card draw. Might try a more aggressive control warrior that's a bit closer to midrange, and find a place for slams so I have something that cycles and doubles as removal.

Not the best environment for control warrior atm with so many people trying Shaman, which was already a bad matchup before they got additional tools with tgt.

My version runs Sludge Belchers. They've won me a ton of games against Aggro. Especially when they blow their owls on stupid stuff.

Against Control you don't throw out Effigy (or Mad Scientist for that matter) if you've got a board full of one and two drops. The idea with Effigy is to maximize it's potential. Just like how you don't drop Duplicate when the only thing on the board is a Zombie Chow.

Unstable portal just gave this guy Grand Crusader, which then gave him Mysterious Challenger, which then summoned 4 Mage secrets for him.
