Just started playing again. Damn if I am not tempted to buy some packs, but whatever. I'll just get them slowly this time around.

If you can sort the wheat from the chaff on Hearthpwn, exactly what help do you need with decklists? The point is not that there is nothing useful on Hearthpwn, but rather that the signal to noise ratio is really bad. Whereas someone can go to the weekly meta snapshot article on Tempostorm, assuming they don't start hiding that series behind the pay wall too, and get not only a fairly accurate analysis of what decks are big and what counter them, but a good decklist to start with for every single one of them. Hearthpwn is a jumbled mess.
Hearthpwn has the front page where the decks with the most upvotes for the week/month/patch are listed and also broken down for every class. All the popular ladder decks will be found there, its not at all hard to sort out for anyone with two brain cells to rub together. There will be times when some oddball deck gets a bunch of votes for being funny, but mostly its the popular templates. If the guy is just trying to quickly recognize what he's playing against then clicking that class on the front page would probably bring it up among the six top options.

Honestly a lot of the times following the meta snapshot on tempostorm will not be a great idea for a new player. For one thing its often behind the meta's evolution by the time they post it and should more accurately be named "snapshot oflast week'smeta". Also they are so geared toward pro level and/or high level ranked play that as early as the second week of the season it should be more accurately named "meta snapshot ofpeople playing at legend rank". They are also biased where other sites have no reason to be. Its a bit better already without MagicAmy but the decklists clearly favored whatever the team was playing and especially anything Reynad came up with. The new guy has actually included some links and the mechmage finally isn't Reynad's Blingtron list only so its gotten better in that regard.

I still say being on Curse network is their biggest benefit because there's something to be said for having the total mentality (good and bad) of the playerbase in front of you to browse through. You should also use other sites, but any site is going to be whoring for traffic and spotlighting every popular deck ASAP. Just follow them all on Facebook and you will get notified of popular decks in real time rather than waiting a week to see what almighty Tempostorm has to say about the meta this time.

For people that follow other parts competitive gaming:

With the fighting game community, you have two major game sites; SRK, which has been the competitve hub of the street fighter community for over ten years and eventhubs, which as been the ad farming site with a scrubby as fuck forum since SF4. If you're new to fighting games, you can choose to surf a forum that actually has good information or a garbage website that pillages news and gives players lots of bad habits.

Hearthpwn is the eventhubs of the hearthstone world. The hearthstone world doesn't yet have a real SRK. Supporting hearthpwn just supports ad farmers that don't give a flying fuck about the game or the community. The intelligent posters on the forum that shoot down the retards get their posts deleted. People crying for nerfs based on lore reasons are lauded.

Do you want to support that kind of garbage? Fine, go for it. But if you actually want good information and a good community, you're better off looking elsewhere.

I go to hearthpwn because 1) I know it exists and its web address and 2) It has a shitload of decks to choose from if im trying to just build something rq to clear dailies.

Looks like dragon types will be more of a thing and will have some synergies like there are with mechs and murlocs and pirates already.

New board:

Mobile version is apparently in alpha.

I bet there's going to be a few 1's that are particularly nasty that are added to deal with dragons that he might pull. In a vacuum not knowing all of what's coming though, he does sound ridiculous though. But I can just see something like:
"Zealous Dragonslayer 1 - 1/3 +5 Attack vs. Dragons" or some such as a foil you risk by playing it that can basically make it a wasted play.

Thought for sure we would have multiplayer ie 2 vs 2 or even 2 vs 1 pve.
I know, I thought 2v2 was the rumor. The game really needs additional playmodes. Hopefully more announcements coming. They are fucking up if not.

Way happier about this new board than the Naxx one. The new cards look pretty interesting as well although I again feel like those rogue ones work better in your head than in reality.

The thing that makes the rogue card playable is that its a simple battle cry and not a combo. But we'll see.

I'm guessing that's supposed to be some sort of anti aggro card? Wondering if that will be a running tech theme to address the speed of the game.

You talking about the skulker? that is not anti aggro imo

If anything zoo goes away, and makes face hunters more powerful. We will have to see the new cards tho

Does anyone know how this would work? I did some quick googling and first few results sounded inconclusive.

I had three minons down. Opponent drops a Sylvanas and passes. I dropped my Sylvanas, went to face with the three other minons. Then passed. He conceded but I was wondering what would have happened if he traded Sylvanases. Sounds like the results of that are actually inconsistent and not based on which was played first or whose turn it is when one dies, there's no way to predict which deathrattle would trigger first. I likely had lethal anyway which is why he conceded but I was actually hoping to see him do it and find out what happened.

Example:

Sylvanas vs. Sylvanas Deathrattle Test - Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft - hub - 2P.com

I know 2v2 was the rumor but really was hoping for tourney modes. Hopefully they have more to announce but something that game changing(2v2 or tourney modes) seem like big enough changes to announce right away. Hopefully they are at least working on such things.

No controversy anymore, they fixed it with naxx, first played first triggered. It was inconsistent before that so that would be why you found results all over the place.

So it would have stolen something from me but then my deathrattle would have stolen something right back?
