Like 600ish?

Of that, maybe 10% are truly relevant in tier 1 or tier 2 constructed decks.
Mist: I thought it's SLCLS this year for sets? (Reforged, Dragons, Origins [skipping MM2 since it's not "new"], Battle for Zendikar, Zendikar Pt. 2) - should be about 400 for each S/L combined and then Origins is 272. Or did I foul up something in my math there?

WotC has had decades to improve their processes as far as R&D; HS doesn't have anywhere near that experience or resources. On the flip side, HS being an actual digital product compared to MTGO ...

I feel like a horrible person playing hunter. Like scum of the earth. I put together the original reynad madsci hunter (two explosive, two freezing) and just destroy everything.

You top deck your lethal nonstop. Sickening.
I had no idea how absurd hunter was when laddering. What rank does it stop being so good at? Even when I lose, the games are so quick it doesn't even matter. It's actually ruined my enjoyment a bit I think, because I prefer to play the more in-depth classes but it doesn't seem worth it at all.

I never thought I'd achieve the dream for the first time with a Rogue, but damn, what a deck. 4 auto barbers = OP as fuck.

Interview from Pax East with Ben Brode:

2 main take aways:

1. Dr. Boom is not on the radar to be nerfed. The dev team is very aware that he's the first good neutral 7 drop in the game which is a large part of why he's being run. He also notes that a lot of decks are starting to phase him out. I think he's exaggerating this point a bit but there are a lot of people phasing out all 7+ attack minions just to deny opponent value from BGH.

2. First wing of Blackrock Mountain will not be free. He said that Naxx was different since nobody knew what an Adventure Mode was. Now we do so we don't need that "taste" to get us hooked.

Might be time for me to quit for a bit ... I was playing a Mage in Arena with my Priest - I have 3 minions on board, he drops a shredder which pops a doomsayer and wipes me out. He beats me down a bit, I manage to stabilize and I'm about to break through and turn the tide, out comes another shredder which pops out a 2nd doomsayer ... wipes my board again and then rapes my face after that, since I can't get anything else down that can challenge him.
Are you one of those arena mostly/only players? As common as shredders are on the ladder that's not even a very surprising sequence of events. I absolutely play around the possibility of a shredder popping a doomsayer, for my benefit or detriment, at this point.

With the current Meta, Kezan Mystic is really strong right now.

Last night I lost back to back games solely because Kezen Mystic came down and stole a key secret. This morning I swapped Faceless Manipulator out and put Kezan Mystic in my Control Warrior deck. First game was a Mage that I stole Duplicate from which later duplicated that Mystic. End of the game, Mystic comes down one more time to steal Mirror Entity.

Her stats are a bit on the weak side but since she actually steals the secret and doesn't simply destroy it, the tempo swing with a successful Mystic is huge to the point of backbreaking against some decks.

I never draw it when I fucking need it though.
She's a meta card so not having her when you need her sucks. While I won't hard mulligan for her, if I'm up against a Mage or a Hunter and she's in my opening hand I tend to keep her. I also think she's really good in Control Warrior since their card draw can be extremely good with Shield Block and lots of ways to hit Acolytes of Pain for draw.

But that does bring up a good point. I was bored last night so I was trying extremely hard to make a Control Mage work. The problem is card draw. Eventually I run out of answers and steam and then spiral to defeat. I tried making Arcane Intellect work but the tempo loss of using 3 mana to net 1 card is hard to overcome. Also tried using Acolytes of Pain with the idea that I can ping him myself for card draw but that costs 5 mana for 1 card and pitiful board presence. There needs to be good card draw available for control decks but the catch is that it can't be so good that aggro decks will run it too. Aggro decks biggest weakness is that once they run out of steam, it's over for them. So if they get really cheap and effective card draw, they can keep up too much pressure.

Anyway, that's just some early Sunday ramblings.

Control mage works, you just have to use Echo as your card advantage engine. It's probably too slow for the meta atm, but it was pretty good when the meta was still shaking out.

Have we still not had a Hearthcards tournament since GvG released?

I've been running pesty's tempo mage which has a KM in it, it's fun to actually steal your secret back as well.

Was thinking same thing as Gavin - Echo and Duplicate (along with maybe Arcane Int) seem like best options for control mage in terms of keeping your hand full and extending the game.

I like that tempo mage by Pesty and am giving it a try. Card draw is still a problem but my first game with it was against a Priest and did very well winning me the game. And I HATE priests and will auto-concede against them most of the time due to how "unfun" I deem them to play against.

I just lost to a hilarious deck. No salt here... the way it all came together was amazing. I was playing shaman against a druid. He starts out first couple turns with a master swordsman followed by echoing ooze. I have a poor starting hand, so don't play a card until I coin out a Piloted Shredder on turn 3. Turn 4 he plays an AnnoyoTron and Power of the Wild. I Lightening storm and earth shock clearing the board except for his swordsman who now has 1 health. The next couple turns he plays 2 hobgoblins, a goldshire footman, and a micromachine that gets buffed twice. Turn 7 he plays double Savage Roar and smashes me.

I had never seen the Hobgoblins coupled with micromachines before, then compounded with double savage roar. Was amazing. I realize this took a great draw for him and a shitty one for me, but was still funny to see. I thought it was clever and didn't mind bending over at all.

Sometimes I REALLY love Unstable Portal. I mean who plays around a turn 5 Ragnaros

My opponent gave it the old college try but conceded on Turn 7 after I dropped Boom and Rag was still slapping his face.

I played Mech Shaman for a bit today. Went 14-4 from Rank 15 to 11 6-1 vs Mech Mage. Pretty good deck, games quick too
