Yeah, on it's own it doesn't look strong, but the way the meta shakes out itcouldsee play in aggro/tempo decks. It's also dragon type so that may add some additional value.

If you're going to have your aggro deck curve all the way to 6 you're probably better with an Argent Commander than this thing due to the haste.

Whats the deal with the abundance of stall decks going around? Played a 30 minute game as a face hunter the other night because a druid tree of lifed at 2 hp while I had a weak board, had 2 healbots, 2 healing touches and then concedes right as I'm dealing the lethal blow. You purposefully try to drag out 30 minute games, but you have to concede in that .5s before I kill you....ok. And now I'm seeing stupid ass stall mage more than I am mech mage. Why do ppl do this?
So, is Kel Thuzad just something that EVERYONE runs now? Because I've played like 3 or 4 matches today and have run into a lot of them lately. Son of a bitch.
I don't know that Nefarian is as bad as you guys are making it out to be. 2 spells is still a decent battle cry, there is high potential there. Plus once again, Dragon type.

Well, there's a lot of really shitty spells. I guess people weren't sure on unstable portal because there are a lot of shitty minions. But on a nine mana 8/8 you need a really strong effect or it simply won't be played. Dragon synergy might help, but I'm wondering how many more cards that are going to synergize in great ways they could possibly have up their sleeves.

I think it's a pretty nifty battlecry. But it just comes so late that many times he'll be a dead card. Waiting until turn 9 to cast him and rarely being able to cast the spells you get in return can get you killed really easily.

Yeah, played coldlight 3 or 4x w/ youthful brewmaster and a freezing trap, but he only managed to burn 1 card so I was still able to deal the ~100 points of damage to kill him.

The main problem with Nef is that yea, 9 for an 8/8 is just bad if you figure the spells are going to be only moderately helpful and delayed at that 95% of the time. If he was cheap enough to stand on his own, or follow up with a 2-3 mana spell, or if his battlecry reduced the cost of the spells by like 1-2, he'd be in much better shape and STILL would probably not be that good.
So far the expansion looks like a bunch of neat ideas very poorly balanced.

Exactly. As long as Face Hunter and Mech Mages are allowed to exist, a 9 mana card is a dead card way too often.

My tempo priest petered out around rank 6 as the whole meta seemed to shift towards tempo making early board control more difficult so at lunch I just started going the opposite route and made a greedy priest deck. 129 more wins to go.
