Did one of these die? Anything that gets put directly into play doesn't trigger a battlecry, it has to be played from hand.

I gotta say, when Voidcaller pulls Jaraxxus for me on turn 4, I usually win. A vanilla 3/15 isn't all that scary, but he also isn't all that easy to get rid of.

Got my 2nd loss on an arena run last night to a mage deck that went into fatigue and had 4 flamestrikes and a pyroblast. Grats that guy I guess on the bonkers deck. I'm more shocked that it actually took that much to not lose against my sorta crappy draft, but they woulda lost with only 3 flamestrikes so huh

I did amazing (first 12 since TGT) with a deck I thought was crap earlier today myself. Its a weird format. (When I say crap - I mean I was expecting like 4-5 wins with it vs. 12)

Heh, I've been out of arena so long I have apparently forgotten now. Think the best I've done this week is 5-3? It just feels like you get so many awful, awful choices now with all the TGT cards, and when you do draft something you're fairly happy with you go 3-0 quickly then run in to the brick of wall of paladins with double truesilver/murloc/muster and just get roflstomped.

shaman plays turn 3 far sight in to coin ancestor's call and gets malygos to my taskmaster. I'm officially salty.

OTK shaman is a terrible deck. But once, every 300 games or so, everything lines up and they just kill you. Sorry you were number 300.

Been messing around with my probably bad version of dragon priest today. Went from like 18 > 11 so it's not like I'm playing versus top tier, but so far this seems to be doing pretty well. Pyromancers have mostly let me cut SW: P in favor or two SW: D and still be able to handle early aggro combined with the amazing dragon taunts. Not sold on the Velen's so far, but the extra fat body on a taunt is amazing sometimes, and I'm not sure what I'd even replace it with.

Anyone else good at dragon priest know any mojo for dealing with secret paladin? So far it feels like if they hit the challenger on turn 6 or 7 I just can't really deal with it.

Using Dragon Priest I'm about 50/50 (maybe slightly in my favor) against Secret Paladin. The biggest thing is you need an active board against them. Once Mysterious Challenger comes down sometimes the best play is not to do anything at all. You know that attacking is going to create a snowball effect so sometimes it's best to not attack for a turn or two until you're ready to commit to it. Always try and have SWD in hand and save it for Challenger. If you can time the Secrets right to force Avenge on Challenger and then Death it, that's your best case scenario.

Another thing I noticed is that bad Secret Players will drop Competitive Spirit at really bad times. Once I know it's Competitive Spirit, I have no problems leaving a single 1/1 Recruit alive to proc the secret and, essentially, waste it.

Getting Taunts out early helps too. This goes for any matchup but there are times it's worth keeping a Chillmaw or Ysera in an opening hand just to guarantee synergy with lesser costing stuff.

I like that variation. About 240 dust from making my Ysera for that deck. I also have been having problems with secrets pally. Usually I try to clear their board as much as possible but the deck just stomps you sometimes(more times than I like).

I have no idea where people got the idea that Mech Mage is favored against Paladin. I'm currently literally 1-27 against Paladin with Mech Mage, the matchup is utterly hopeless. There's just no way to beat Paladin right now without playing an uninteractive combo deck like Patron Warrior or Freeze Mage.

Or Tempo Mage, or Control Mage, or Midrange Hunter, or double brawl control warrior, or probably handlock too.

Ever since TGT dropped every single one of your posts has been about how unstoppable secret paladin is. It isn't.

Arena is so strange these days. You can usually make it to like 4-5 wins with any decent-ish draft and some solid play, but hole shit once you're at 5+ wins you just run in to a brick wall of insane decks that just end you unless you hit the jackpot just as much as them. My last three runs have been 5-0, to end 5-3, 6-3, and 5-3 against like triple murloc knight decks, or double kodo rider, or the shaman with 2 totem golems and at least 3 fire elementals. I just don't ever get those kind of opportunities in my picks and it's sad.

So what are the best arena decks now? I know pally is ridiculous and mage will always be good. Is shammy now one of the top ones? Or has it been? I haven't done arena in ages.

The fact that the Grand Finals of ATLC had a game 100% decided because RDU topdecked a Mysterious Challenger perfectly on turn 6 when any other draw guarantees him a loss is just disgusting. Esports!

How is that different from topdecking a clutch wrath or your last combo piece when you're facing lethal damage the next turn in MtG?

For reals, there is plenty of RNG to complain about in HS, but topdecking a card is just the nature of literally every card game.
