Any opinions on arena class balance atm?
I've just dipped my toe in, doing one full Warlock draft and a barely started Warrior draft. Some thoughts based on the little I have seen:
The Warlock draft I went 4-3, but it should have been at least 5 wins if I hadn't misplayed in the final turn against a shaman. I haven't played shaman yet, and didn't realize how much damage he could pile on with a combination of ATK buffs and windfury on a single dude, so I stupidly let it live instead of taking the safe play and killing it. He was lucky with his topdeck and random totem, but I could have eliminated the risk of that if I played correctly. Either way, the Warlock power is obviously very powerful, but I felt the warlock class cards left me wanting. So many of the minions were situational, and several of the spells were very Demon themed. Maybe I was just unlucky with the draft, but I wasn't too impressed. Most of my wins were just from abusing the warlock power for massive card advantage and then plopping down a bunch of big minions to take control of the board before I could be burned down.
The Warrior draft I'm 1-1, so it's a bit early to tell. The spells and minions seemed significantly better than the Warlock cards, but the downside is that the class power seems underwhelming. The class also seems very focused on synergy, with enrage and weapon/armor-focused cards ideally needing combos to be strong. It seems like it can be extremely powerful with the right draft, but can land you with underpowered draws if you can't draft the necessary synergistic cards. Also, I understand Battle Rage was changed recently, but in its current iteration it seems to be a "win more" card.
In theory, priest, mage, paladin and to some extent druid seems strong. Their class abilities and mechanics seem to work better with plain neutral cards, instead of relying on getting the right class cards to combo them with.
Is any of this accurate?
