Wow. I just lost to a Mage in arena with both Alexstraza and Rag, both while top decking at the end of the game. Even then, the only reason he won is because Rag kept hitting my minions and he froze me with a Water Elemental right before I drew a Truesilver.

Fucking Rag and Alexstraza. The guy might as well have had a constructed deck

Animal Companion seems to give the 4/4 with Taunt more often than not.
Speaking of, animal companion is such a bull shit card now that you've made me think about it. Every minion it can summon is way under priced. A 4/4 with taunt for 3 mana?, 4/2 w/ charge, 2/4 with raid leader buff. I get it is under priced because it is random, but 3/4 for the taunt, 3/2 for the charger, and 2/3 for leokk would all still be under priced.

The card would be unplayable with those changes. Besides, the better hunter decks don't even run it.

Put this on the record: Mage Arena with Ice Block, 4x Fireball, 4x Flamestrike, 2x Polymorph. I have exceeded the bounds of peak Flamestrike.

I know this has been said a zillion times but I've been trying to get into this game as I really like the idea of the Arena and I find it completely and utterly unacceptable that the distribution of rarities is not fixed. Getting murdered is one thing. Getting murdered by epics and legendaries when I don't even have one of either in my deck is something entirely different.

edit - so it appears everyone gets at least one Legendary except me. Five drafts in a row without one but every game today I have to deal with one from my opponent.

When it comes to CCGs I'm accustomed to drafting with physical product at a table with seven other players where the card pool and pack distribution prevent such things from being a constant occurrence.

Today I got deathwinged on both my 2nd and 3rd arena matches. Rustled but thankfully swipe +sp and frost elemental slew the 2nd dragon.

Sure Arbitrary. You play against legendaries in every arena game. It's a "constant occurance."

You want me to start taking screenshots? My last run's losses were due to Onyxia, the healing doubler Priest legendary, and Cairen Bloodhoof.

I don't give a crap about the rarity distribution, it happens in mtg too. Someone opens a mythic bomb that wins any game it's played (Elspeth) all the time. Nothing you can do about it except try to have a consistent deck and beat them before they cast it or when they don't draw it in time.

What I do care about, and maybe I just don't have enough game knowledge yet, is how '50/50' a lot of decisions seem to be. I'll try to play around certain cards, but to do so often makes you weak against a different strategy. So, it feels like a guessing game much of the time. For example, holding back a creature against a mage on turn 6, in case they have flamestrike. Then, instead of flamestriking they polymorph your big guy and put out a taunter that you can't deal with next turn because your minions can't attack since you didn't put em out the previous turn. If I try to play around that, then I'll get blown out by flamestrike.

My latest arena runs, had one 7 win, then a 2 win, then a 6 win. I felt all 3 decks were similar strength and curve, but just seemed to get my bad matchups all in a row on the 2 win run. Meanwhile, I'll watch Trump do 9-12 win runs all the time, so I know I still have room to improve. But, even he gets 0-3'd sometimes.

One thing I have noticed watching Trump/Krip stream arena is they have a better understanding of the archtypes you should be trying to draft for each class. I try and just pick good cards while they are picking to a strategy depending on Rogue, Druid etc.

Hey mods, how do we feel about a couple of Hearthstone threads here?

I'd say an Arena (How to Win) and a Ranked (Critique this Shit Deck) might be useful.

I'm finally running into non-geeks at work that are playing this silly, silly, game.

(EDIT: I know I am a motherfucking Champion but seriously? I avoided a tag back to noows days...)

EDIT2: I just lost to a **FUCKING** bot, in arena. I know it was a bot or at least a paid person but seriousl..............

Jesus, I'm so tired of card rewards. 5 arena's today, rewards below

Mage 7-3 160g, pack, Ancestral Spirit
Shaman 7-3 150g, pack, Temple Enforcer
Shaman 7-3 160, 20 dust, pack
Shaman 8-3 185g, pack, Golden Snipe
Mage 10-3 185g, pack, Siphon Soul, Golden Mana Wyrm

Really Blizzard, are card rewards really this necessary. Not even so much as an epic in the 5 packs either. The golds are at least passable, but a regular common at 7+ sucks ass. As shitty as 20 dust is it beats a common
