That is not a great draft. It's a good one. Two commons is not abnormal, it's pretty much par for the course. It's like getting two swipes. It happens at least half the time. Lightning storm and earth elemental(and I guess Deathwing if you think it's actually good) are the only abnormal pieces. I'm playing at least three bad cards. If you think that is an amazing deck you don't draft a lot. Shaman is just easier to cobble together a good deck with because it has a lot of mass removal, fire eles, and hexes that are all common.
3 BAD CARDS? holy shit, what a terrible draft. The fire elementals are the 2nd thing I mentioned, because it's those really strong neutrals that you have all over your deck that are impressive.

Pretty sure it tries matching you up with people with the same number of wins.
It tries matching you with someone with the same number of losses first, then wins. A guy on reddit tried a bit of science by friending every person he played and asking their score before they played each other. The win difference was up to 4 (11-1 to 8-1 in one match), but the losses were always the same. Considering the pool of people with the same # of losses as you is far larger than the pool of people with the same # of wins, this makes sense.

It could be just losses, but I would think it is overall record before just losses. Only like 2% of arena runs are going to get to 11 wins so naturally they may have to face someone with less wins, then it probably factors in losses too. In other words mountain man, there is no mmr, but it uses your current record in some capacity to match you.

Dunno - only time the wife and I got matched against each other - I was fresh on a new Arena and she was at something with 2 losses. (And just conceded to her because she guilted me into conceding!)

But that is the only time I've done any type of "tracking" - never cared to, just got paired vs. her once.

Yeah, it must factor in latency/geographical location somewhere too because its not uncommon to face the same person 2x in a row and I know there are so many people playing this game the odds of that happening is probably akin to winning the showcase showdown on the price is right. Silly if it weighs latency that heavily though in a game such as this.

I think that was done while matchmaking in general was fucked (Legendary vs Rank 25 etc). Every time I've asked outside of that it's always been within 1 win. The other day I played a guy on my friends list, we where both 0-0 at the time. Ironically he went 12-1, his only loss was to my turn 3 Ironbark, while I went 7-3

No clue where the wifes WINS compared for that time - just remember that she was about to lose out.

So this might be my best draft ever. I even had to take some below-average cards, but it still is working out great so far. Only loss in 11 matches was to a shaman who killed me when I had lethal next turn. I've had several matches where I'm at 12 or less health when I win.

Unshown cards are Abusive Sergeant, Worgen Infiltrator, Equality, Argent Protector, and Bloodsail Raider.

10-2 now. Just ran into a mage that pulled 3 Flamestrikes and 3 Water Elementals in 13 cards.

Finished 10-3. 2 mages for the last two losses. It's like they are clearly overpowered in Arena or something.

More priest lulz, this time in arena. I have the berserker and the weaponsmith out, he drops ooze and venture co. Having nothing good in my hand to deal with the venture co, I thoughtsteal that truesilver, enrage the weaponsmith on the ooze, and truesilver the venture co. He conceded :-D

I did a druid draft recently where I was offered Soul of the Forest very early and passed on it because I had no assurance I would get a Savage Roar. Ended up getting offered Roar twice later on.

I still haven't accomplished a 12 weiner yet, I had an 11 win with paladin which is generally my best hero, after that I've gotten 9s with warrior and mage, and a bunch of 6-8s with whatever.

I know that the new Hunter deck is supposedly balanced but what beats it? I'm running into it all the time around rank 9. I can't find a control strategy that stops it. I've tried priest, druid and paladin. Last match I played 1-2 minions, got a 2 for 1 on Swipe twice, healed with Earthen Ring Farseer and Ancient of Lore andstillgot blown out.

Sounds like your problem is you're playing too passive. You have to play very aggressively against hunter, otherwise you'll get buried under a never-ending tide of charge creatures and direct damage.
