i really don't understand why people can tolerate watching this game. I find lol 100000000000x more interesting, and i can only sometimes watch lol. Even the idea of sitting through some hearthstone matches as a spectator is painful.

The time should be much shorter on the early turns. If it takes you more than 5 seconds to decide what to play on turns 1-4/5, then you should probably go play something that isn't quite so taxing on your mental capacity.

back when i still played more than to collect quests once a week, i used to constantly go afk for 2 mins on my turns just to piss people off. I'd let it run on a side monitor and do stuff once the timer started going.

= When I actually cared enough to rank up, I would play as inefficiently as possible? So edgy.

Welcome to the real metagame I see. Training the human behind the cards to milk turns and piss his opponent off on purpose? There is no end to you kind of people! Lizard demon lesbian terrorists.

Who cares if you can't trigger it on your turn? It'll combo well with turn 3 Argent Protector on your 2 drop. And it also synergizes with all the 'summon minion' cards (Imp Master, Razorfen Hunter, Dragonling Mechanic, Violet Teacher, and Silver Hand Knight).

My paladin deck is a weird one. I have one of every secret in it just because I like to keep them guessing. I'd put a copy of this into that deck in a heart beat. In a real, like 'real' pally deck, I can still see it being an powerful ability for 1 mana and 1 card if you feel confident that your deck can synergize with it more often than not. Of course, you also run the risk of essentially 2 for 1-ing yourself if the opponent pops this at the right (wrong) time.

I've started to take way longer than that on my early turns. I try to consider what would happen if they make any of the common expected plays on the following turn, based on what I have as responses in my hand. Even just looking one turn ahead there are dozens of common possibilities.

I took almost the full 90s on a turn 5 last night and don't even feel bad. Played frothing berserker, coin, wild pyromancer, slam to clear his x/3 and x/1 board while leaving me with the 3/1 pyro and 7/3 berserker, wanted to make sure I played them in the correct order to not kill my pyromancer.

I don't get the game is stale comments, it seems lion king and zoo are already on their way out, besides me wanting to see more priests and mages its been a huge mix from rank 20 to rank 6, I never played against the same deck more than twice in a row this season and I couldn't say that about past seasons. Granted I played more sporadically this season, but that still goes to show you the meta is still changing every few days even with the same card pool for months.

Exactly this. You should be able to run lines of play for what you assume is in the opponent's deck.

Oops. I forgot this game is "solved" and its all "random".

I agree. This goes back to mine and Arbitrary's earlier point about not fucking with the cards or the meta. The meta will fuck with itself just fine. It's the designer's job to help it along with a new infusion of cards every so often.

There are legitimate reasons to take the full timer on some plays (especially with lots of cards in hand and some not so obvious combo potentials) and then there are douches who take the full turn in hopes that the opponent will concede out of frustration.

I've been toying around with the Malygos Rogue and some of my early turns can take me a decent amount of time. I have to consider if I should use cards, if dagger should hit face, and basically plan out my next 3-4 turns based on what they could do and make sure it all works. The deck is kind of a pain in the ass, because your turn 2 play could lose you the game even if you don't realize it.
