Well make the argument then. Why is Hearthstone a low skill game?
The game has a skill wall that is reached very quickly that is built into it because it has no execution. There is no great to amazing players in Hearthstone like they have in Fighting games, the game doesn't allow for it.
There is no interaction, certainly no interesting plays. The rules and the cards are not set up for that type of game.
Any halfway good player can beat a so called pro, because everyone is essentially at the same place ,and you are at the mercy of dice rolls.
The card pool isn't even deep enough to play around with. We are seeing the same decks cycle through constantly.
Taking a High skill capped game like Chess for instance. You will never see a high skilled chess player be beaten by a low skilled player.
You will also never see stops in advancement in that game because the game isn't set up around random generation.
I've never played Magic so I can't say what is going on in that game, but I assume that because of the depth of the card pool, and the differences in the way the game plays that is has a much higher skill cap then Hearthstone.
If you do reach a skill wall, I assume it wont happen for years where in Hearthstone it happens in months.
The fact that it is an actual E sport now is just hilarious to anyone who has played this game for awhile.
In fact, I'm not sure I could name any other E sport where the pros are on the exact same level as 1000's of other players with no way for the pros to break through that skill wall.
