I played against a Warrior designed for fatigue today. A lot of the Control Warrior backbone, but shit like Coldlight, Doomsayer, Healbot
I got milled hard a couple days ago on my Warrior. I didn't know I was facing mill til it was too late (dropped coldlight). I was burning cards like it was nobodies business.

Doesn't help that control warrior is stacked to the tits with high cost cards.

Man, you hit 9-0 in Arena and then you start seeing some absurd decks. Promptly lost 3 straight.

I need 92 more wins for my first golden hero: Paladin. Golden tokens are going to be awesome.

On December 29th I had 183 wins. Been playing control Paladin since then 99% of time. That's 225 wins in 12 days, 18.75 wins/day.

Was rank 4 at end of last season. Grinding back up, at rank 10 atm, had a shit day yesterday and fell back to rank 15. Changed up my deck slightly, added 2x Arcane Nullifiers and I got back to rank 10 pretty fast, win rate vs aggro went up a tick.

I'll never "farm" wins. Maybe Ill do Shaman next for more gold tokens.

People run the nullifiers a lot, or at least I see them on a lot of deck lists, but I rarely ever see them. I don't really think they are that good tbh.

They're ok if you can buff them (powermace/sharpsword oil) or if you need a mech in play (cogmaster's wrench) but aside from that they're really just worse than Senjins.

1 atk less but can't be killed by spells/hero power, fair trade off and not worse imo.
The nullifiers win against a lot of shit out there atm.
They completely screw over druid mill.
Warriors have to use weapons.
Rogues get fucked, as do mages.
Hunters can't use hunter's mark or kill command.
Warlock can't bomb/implosion.

Anyway, they might not work in a lot of decks but I like them in mine.

If you can get an Iron Sensai behind one its pretty tits.

How does Arena matchmaking work? I went like 6-9 wins a bunch of times in a row and now I'm getting my ass brutally beaten. I assumed it matched you by record solely, not by skill, am I wrong?

I was definitely playing against worse players even with better records for that arena run, and now I'm playing against good players even when I'm doing shitty on a run.

It's completely record based, but not exact. You might be 6-0 and get a 5-1 or a 6-1 or a 6-0 or a 7-0 etc, sometimes you can get the same person two games in a row. It can really feel off though sometimes when you play your first game and you get wrecked by a guy who's on his way to an easy 12-0 and you start 0-1.. vs some games you start your 8th game when you're 7-0 and you get someone else who is 7-2 and barely got that far by playing well with a subpar deck and you destroy them for an easy win.

Bought 40 packs for the first time earlier, ended up with 2 legendaries (Leeroy and Illidan) and 600ish dust after dusting doubles.. not impressed. Considering just dusting both of them since I don't have much of a collection to speak of and don't see myself using either of them in a deck.

God I love when I can get Antonidas to work. I was playing a Handlock and had Antonidas under stealth from 1 mana Master of Disguise. I had 5 Fireballs in hand and I used another 3 in the game. That's when he decides to concede.

Overall though, the meta just sucks. Literally half of my matches are against Hunter. The rest are a mix but of different decks: Control Warrior, Mech Mage, Handlock and the rest of the usual suspects. But the meta has revolved around Hunter for way too long. They are the most nerfed class with direct (unleash the hounds, buzzard, bow) and indirect (Leeroy) nerfs but they remain the most popular and consistent deck on the ladder right now. GvG did nothing. It actually made them even stronger by giving them Glaivezooka, mechanical gnomes and some really good beasts to be drawn out of Webspinner.

One thing noticed too that didn't occur to me. Just as they didn't add any additional secrets, they didn't add any sources of Silence either. I guess some of the devs went on record (twitter) and said that they don't like the Silence mechanic but with all of the deathrattles out there, we need something that can deal with it all. Their "solutions" sucked. Lil' Exorcist is just a speed bump (if that) and Scarlet Purifier isn't that great and is Paladin only.

There was a really good thread (for once) on the main forums that basically said that the power of threats has increased dramatically in GvG but the power of answers/counters/removal didn't increase enough to match it (On the state of the current meta, an observation and simplification. - Forums - Hearthstone). I don't agree with everything he said but I I tend to agree with the reasoning that aggro is more powerful than it has ever been before and the counters to aggro haven't kept pace. And ultimately, I think it's bad for the game. I agree that aggro needs to be viable to keep the meta in check (otherwise everyone would be playing super slow Priest and ultra Control Warrior) but it's a bit too much right now in my opinion.

But for the time being, I'm simply in "complete daily quest and quit for the day" mode.

Anway, despite my complaining, I really like Mech Mage right now. I'm glad to see that Mage, finally, has a couple of viable decks again (though Secret Mages annoy the fuck out of everyone). But Mech Mage is just a solid tempo deck. If you get momentum going, it's really hard to stop. And I was wrong about Unstable Portal. They are great. They don't always work out but they don't always have to either. They work to buff Wyrms or more fuel for Antonidas.

I just had a game against Huntard. Turn 3 I had Chugga Chugga on the board and all he had were two ghost spiders. He spends turn 4 pulling out a bow to kill Chugga Chugga and goes face with the ghosts. I unstable Portal into Harrison Fucking Jones so I coin that bad boy out to destroy his bow and get a free card. Was awesome. He conceded a couple turns later when I drop an Annoy-O-Tron and the follow up Goblin Blastmage wipes his board.

Just opened Golden Blingtron 3000. Any argument for not de'ing this into a playable legendary?

Blingtron is playable in the right decks but there are better. I just don't think I could bring myself to disenchanting a Golden Legendary and I only have 1 (Cairne).

I've DE'd every golden legendary that I've gotten so I could craft legs that I needed. I also like to make Gavinrad rage.
