So I have been able to get into a couple missions - Some just normal defense, one where you need to get a launch code and launch an ICBM. Pretty fun with all the things you need to level up and then can use. I am only level 3 - pretty sure I was carried by a level 18 guy. Had magnetic fields everywhere.

I'm hoping while everyone in their little company that knows anything is working on the network/datatable whatever issues, that they are fervently trying to cook up ongoing content while they have this cash cow, because I fear it kinda flaming out after a couple months.

Anti material rifle is very good against bots, head shots kill everything including the biggest guys. Can three shot At-Sts from the front in a pinch as well.

Yesterday they added the 15 minute idle timer. Today they increased server capacity to 700,000 according to Reddit. Good changes. I hope they keep it up because I'm having a blast with it.

I've been trying out some lesser used stuff a little disappointed in progression items. Tesla gun seems to have to be pretty close to be effective. I bought the spear and couldn't get it to lock on to anything. The Tesla turret just got shat upon by bots and didn't seem to kill much. I hear a lot of people say they like the rail gun but you have to reload on every shot. I know each thing has weaknesses...

Basically, I am bringing a Devastator, Eagle Cluster, Mortar, Autocannon, and one free slot to tweak strategy, usually either another turret or strike. Mortar is king right now and will probably be nerfed. You get a lot of FF with it but it is clutch.

I agree that they're going to have to get armor fixed, items rebalanced, and more content out fast or this game is going to flame out in a month. It's a lot of fun but people are flying through the progression and there isn't a lot of content to look forward to.

The spear has a weird lock-on mechanic. It is distance based and has a very narrow "Lock-on" zone. Imagine your target is in the middle of a donut, your lock-on range is the dough but very narrow, you have to stay within that zone in order to lock-on. You have to compensate for the target moving and things like Bile Titans can move out of range in 1-2 steps so you have to be quick. Once you get it down it's very good but the expendables are better for everything due to the low cooldown time and ability to drop them for friends. They need to widen the range for the lock-on for sure, maybe double/triple the current distance.

EDIT: You have to be a lot closer than you think for it to lock-on as well.

We did a Strategems scrambled modified mission last night, we thought it would change the directions to call them in, NOPE, it calls in random strategems. I killed myself multiple times with eagle strikes, lol.

You have the exact experience we all had, then shit starts to click as to why it is good. Also I really tried to make sentry’s work but sadly even fully upgraded kind of suck you are better off grabbing any kind of strike or even EMS Orbital since the cooldown is so low.

What do you mean by this? Is this something that happens automatically or you guys just randomly picked strats?

Also, why does the game sometimes not allow you to add a booster (even if it isn't already in use)? I also noticed sometimes (rarely) you can only bring three strategems. Is this a bug?

Press C before a mission - it displays any mission buffs/debuffs

Some missions limit how many things you can add to load out

Speaking of that, and maybe I just haven't seen or found it yet, but it seems like a pretty easy way to expand content would be to allow you to select modifiers/buffs/debuffs and maybe even mission types. Nerf xp and loot in that mode if needed to keep people from farming the easiest combos.

Am I correct in assuming every planet only has 2-3 mission types? So if you don't want "escort scientists" or "launch ICBMs" or whatever you have to check other planets because you'll never find something else on that one?

No, you input a backpack call down and throw it…you get something random not on cooldown. Hekotat Hekotat clustered himself a few times trying to call down support weapons.

I really, really like the orbital laser. If you're in an oh shit scenario, it's basically a reset.

The only downside is the 3 use limit.

Orbital laser is awesome when the game is an asshole and spawns 2 bile titans, 8 bile spewers, and 8 chargers at once…then your teammates mortar frags you because a jumpy bug got close to you
