I hear you Dis. Took a break for months and now I'm back trying to make some hero league progress. Went on like a 6 game losing streak and felt like punching a hole through my office wall. I know when I'm playing poorly, but it's like every game there's some idiot who throws it. The frustration is real.

Ya, I've dropped from rank 7 to like 19 now. It's plummeted since open beta started. I'd say half my losses are because people drafted like idiots. I've had a couple of games where guys just sit in hearth entire game because they were pissed they didn't get the guy they wanted.. just retarded stuff. Had a couple of people draft tanks because they have a daily quest, even though team already had a tank.. had a malfurion solo bot lane the entire game.. never left. I should start writing this shit down, because some of it is actually comical.

People doing quests in hero league, my trigger.
That gazlowe I mentioned the other day that decided to start/solo boss @12 in the middle of two temples being up was rank 8. I can't imagine anyone with that poor decision making was even carried to rank 8, that had to be somebody playing on someone else's account right? Oh and did I mention he was killed by the boss before the enemy team even got there?

I had a Sky Temple game where we were like level 13 and we killed 1 hero and had like a 10 second rez timer. They pinged boss. I said "No." They went anyways. I joined because 5 people doing retarded shit is generally better than 4 people doing retarded shit. We got annihilated at the throw pit.

I know it's just quick match but nothing grinds my gears more than when I'm in a game where we are getting shit stomped and then someone makes a comment about this being their first day playing or some shit. So after the game I check it out on hotslogs and this motherfucker is around 1600 mmr, and myself who has around 800 matches played is 2600 mmr. I don't get why there cannot be tighter matchmaking. I've never waited more than a minute for a match and I'm willing to wait far longer to get a decent skill matchup.

And don't say play hero league because that's got it's own big set of issues as well, as the posts above show.

QM is the ultra casual mode. If you go into it with any expectations you're doing it wrong. The mode exists to try out builds or become familiar enough with a hero to take it into HL. I've literally stopped caring about winning or losing in that mode since HL came out in terms of end result. QM should be more about personal growth and knowledge not worrying about winning or losing. I generally have decent luck in HL outside of the token person who is rank#1 but actually still kind of sucks but lets everyone know he's rank#1 so this loss is not his fault.

Losing HL rank shouldn't be too surprising now that open beta started because more people are entering the ladder. To Dudebro; Hotslog isn't accurate whatsoever for newer accounts. People who upload their own matches or play at a higher echelon where at least 1/10 are logging will have a decently accurate hotslog, not newer accounts who don't upload.

For example, I'm a 2601; if I started a new account I'd still be a 2601 but the client would figure that out much much faster than hotslog if I didn't upload anything.

Plus, as I keep saying... if you can't remember a recent game in which you got your shit stomped then you're clearly far far far far better and more consistent than I am. I get #wrekt semi-frequently and I'm sure people in my games think "jesus christ will this scrub ever stop feeding".

Agree; I caught myself tryharding too much in QM and made a conscious effort to tone it down. Any expectation other than minute self-improvement is out of place.

Hero league is eons better than quick match in terms of who you are matched with, at least once you get past 30. Its not often I get matched with someone that bad.

Well, people love to rant about how its impossible to carry in HoTS... but I gotta tell you, my first few games in HL were hilarious. I got first blood as brightwing, one guy in the game had a 75 MMR (20 percent win rate over 28 games). First 10 HL games and I'm 7:3. The matchmaker quickly moved me out of the god-forsaken scrub league, though. Got 441 ranked points my last game.

I sorta like what Blizzard has done with the ranked system... the 50-40 tier is a "safe place" to let the matchmaker and the super-casuals get to know each other; by the time losses actually have consequences, a huge majority of objectively poor players will have been properly sorted downwards.

I have to agree that since open beta started the matchmaker is a bit wonky. Prior to open beta I was 80 - 80 rank 23 pushing rank 22 solo queue only. Open beta starts and within a week I've lost 20 of 25 matches I'm at rank 30 and the quality of players is just bad.

A) You're disproportionately "unlucky" and your loss of rank reflects that you're consistently being matched with shit teams due to your bad luck.

B) Better players are entering the game and your loss of rank reflects your new position on the ladder.

A or B, man.

I had a murky on my team doing something similar except it was on the dragon knight map and we kicked the shit out of the other team

I was playing as Nova yesterday and my team mate told me to stop killing Murky because quote "It is worthless." Apparently I was supposed to let him just freely split push and rampage team fights. He even went bubble build so my Q+W could kill him in one rotation instead of having his ass bubble around the fight all day erry day.

Also Nova's PS can one-shot Murky's egg. So find the egg but don't let him know you know where it is. Wait for Murky to die and get his 5s rez time. PS the egg. Give him a real death.
