Lol just lost Haunted Mines in 6 minutes with two rank 1s on my team. One of them instalocked Abathur and then said "oh i fucked up" in pre-game chat as the other team insta-locks Sylvanas. We got shitpumped in a teamfight in mines, they got a 100 skull golem, and pushed to core for win. Aftergame, two of them blasted me in private chat for being rank 35 =P

You missed my point. It had nothing to do with matchmaking in this scenario. It was our team being epic fail choosing to 4v5 a level below in the mines, or our team being epic fail with 2nd pick instalocking Abathur and giving up Sylvanas on HM. After the assreaming, instead of a brief period of self-analysis, its "Quickly! Find an excuse for my loss that doesn't involve me! Oh shit this fucker is rank 35, clearly he lost the game and matchmaker sucks!"
Our 5th pick (Rank 1) chose Illidan into Uther/Johanna/Tassadar/Sonya/Sylvanas. Our team was Rehgar/Abathur/Muradin/Kael'thas/Illidan. I said ("Damn man, picking Illidan into that beef is risky.") and he replies ("I always win with Illidan if my teammates are good.") Lol wat.

Man HL is toxic... I have never played HL so I figured I'd start today. Right now, I actually think QM is a better experience. I must have the worst luck with teams because after 10 games I'm only rank 49 with a record of 2-8. I cant believe I suffered through those 8 loses. In QM I had a bunch of close games where we lost but in HL its all been getting our asses handed to us with at least two people on the team complaining from the start, who in turn, afk or yolo solo. How did you guys get out of that cesspool? I thought QM was bad but damn...

The whole genre is toxic. Just don't let it get to you and realize that you're wasting far less time per game than Dota or League. At least now when someone goes full retard, I've only lost 15-20 minutes of my life instead of 30-60.
Plus with how easy it is to come back in this game, you can even recover from full retard games sometimes.

Only thing I can suggest with Hero League is try and communicate the best you can with the dicknuts queuing up, and be willing to play what is best for the team to win instead of the character you want to play. If the first picks lock in assassins then make sure you pick a support even if that isn't the role you were hoping to play.
Thoughts on Johanna? I haven't played her but she seems pretty meh from the games I played with her in the match last night.
Needs a couple things tweaked, especially her brainless AE Deathgrip. Needs to increase the cooldown or decrease it's range, it's a 10 second cooldown mini Gazlowe grav bomb and the bomb doesn't have a stun like this skill either. You can setup some godlike wombo combos with her.
But if you do this it also amplifies her biggest problem, she' got no gapclose/initiate skill other than ults/trait. Her trait makes her unstoppable from CC's but it's a 20 second cooldown and only lasts 4 seconds. Very easy to poke her to death if her condemn skill is nerfed.

She is the best at anti-disengage in the game at the moment. With talents her shield slow is absurd. I think that people underestimate her ability to Unstoppable on demand as well. But she really, really needs a team to follow up.
At the very least she is not way above or way below the current roster of warriors. I feel she is actually pretty well balanced out the gate. But it seems like now people expect new heroes to come out wildly OP these days.

I tried this briefly a couple weeks ago and didn't think it was my cup of tea, but going to level up to 12 to get the Hearthstone card back. My initial feedback is who designed the fucking shop? It doesn't list prices in gold or $$ of things unless you individually select them. How fucking retarded that I can't browse to see at a glance which Heroes I can afford and which I can't.
The shop used to be alright then last patch they decided to make it really difficult to use. Anymore if you want to buy stuff I find it easier to do it from the Hero Select screen. Just click the hero you want and pay with either gold or real money. Same for skins and mounts. I only go to the shop for bundles.
I think Johanna is pretty mediocre. I think people agree with me because yesterday I was already getting games w/o her. Took a long while before Kael and Sylvanis stopped showing up in every game.
