Muradin is also more than viable now since he's always been solid, just outshined by diablo/etc, now they are all more balanced.

stiches is fine, if you can reliably land his hook and have a modicum of coordination, gg. Prob is he's no longer op and mediocre players can no longer slam their way to success. If you can't hook you really have no business playing him.

I haven't touched Muradin in a long time, but would prob be a solid replacement if ETC is picked. Been wanting to pickup Tyrael as he's always a beast in the hl matches I play.

Tyrael hasn't seen any changes recently as far as I remember; other than removing the knockback talent from Smite, but that was months ago at this point. Is there any particular thing that's making him strong? He's always been a really good initiator with Judgement, but I haven't played him in awhile, since the nerf actually.

He's a good counter to etc too if picked since its another hero that can knock him out of his ult.

Compositions are getting squishier which will naturally increase Tyrael's utility

Anub is current top of the heap for Warriors (win/pick rate across all MMR's) I think Muradin is next (great Illidan counter, and all around tankiness/stuns) seems like Tyrael and ETC are more niche picks which is odd because it does seem like ETC got better with the patch just lost a little damage and like Tenks said squishy comps for Tyrael. Diablo fell off a cliff in the competitive scene but is still effective afaik for HL/QM just squishier while leveling.

Game is a lot of fun, loving Thrall.
lmao oh how the tune has changed after you have actually played it and not written it off because of mounts, i mean ya the brown horse is ugly as fuck but just buy a mount if the cosmetic means that much to you, this game is a ton of fun and very easy to pick up for the masses, i couldent get friends to play dota 2 because of the learning curve but they sure as shit wanna play the fuck out of this.

Have they made any changes to thrall, or is he still only really good when you're left alone to face fuck people with windfury and solo all the merc camps, but outside of that if he was focused or constantly harassed he seemed to not do so well.

how bad is that nerf to KT i didnt buy him last night i went for jaina instead since KT is newer i figured he would be nerf'd/changed before jaina was since shes been around a bit longer, and has had more time to be balanced.

The nerf to KT is mostly to address his level 13 + level 16 interaction where in large groups you could W someone, DE the group and suddenly you did like 10k damage thanks to chain explosion. But you'd be shocked how often those situations actually presented themselves in game. He'll still have amazing damage but he won't be able to E W DE and gib you.

I forget who said it (either reddit or TL) but the entire concept behind Ignite is so stupid as well. "Lets make it do his AOE spell, which has a lower cool down than his single target spell also applies the single target spell to anyone! Genius!"

Kael is still going to be really good damage, that chain reaction effect was way too crazy to begin with and needed to be adjusted.

Thrall is great, i'm not sure what you think makes him weak? with proper sunders to split groups he can and does change team fights big time. Plus he hits like a truck lol
You just can't yolo run in and expect to not die like a tank, because he isn't a tank lol

He has a pretty good poke game if you go with his first chain lightning trait as well.

Yeah Thrall excels at being played almost like Nova. Where you don't actually initiate or even participate in the team fight right away. Just look for picks more on the outskirts. If possible you can win a team fight single handedly if you can Sunder the team into two groups. But if you just WF into a fight with all 5 players with all their cooldowns available you're gunna get blown up.

I love Thrall. He is great one on one with his burst dps and heal. I actually had some newbs chew me out because I was only healing myself and no one else. It was great! I guess they thought I was Rehgar (who's great also). Tenks nailed it on the head. You will get blown up if you have a team who targets you first or if you run in first. Its very hard for people to run away from Thrall and a Thrall/Jaina combo is great. Stuns are Thralls worst nightmare.

Their hidden ELO system is probably the worst possible thing they could have in hero league.

It seems to still put you in your current "rank" yet penalizes you very harshly for losing when you're paired up with a bunch of mouth breathing feeders.. I went down 2 ranks from 1 game because my team was full of retards, what the actual fuck is the logic in that?

Don't sweat the matchmaker too much right now, it's still pre-season and I suspect as more people trickle in (the open beta crowd are still leveling up) it'll get better. Besides; sometimes you're the mouth-breeding feeder that someone else rants about.

Yea it's quite wonky. I'm slumming through the 30s and after one game I get an invite by two people who were just in my solo match and they are rank 10 and 15.

A lot of this is a perception issue regarding the 3 variables.

1) Your rank is the public symbol of the system's confidence in your ability.
2) Your hidden MMR is the system trying to find you a game in which you'll draw (50% win rate).
3) The algorithm that the system uses that takes MMR and tries to find a game. Blizzard's algorithm seems to be far more fluid than Riots; once you played 3 games in a LoL season, the rate of change began to drop enormously. By the time you're on your 10th game, the system feels relatively confident. Fast gains can still be made due to tier skipping (if you're winning at a tremendous rate). In HOTS, it seems that MMR stays fluid for a much longer period. This jives with a Bliz post saying their matchmaker wants much more games before it "locks" someone down to a specific range.

The other side of this coin is selective memory. I guarantee you, anytime someone loses a game they're scanning their teammates and if someone happened to be ranked drastically lower than them then clearly matchmaker is bullshit. How often do they do this same scan when they win a game? You think no rank X is winning games with rank 40-50s? (they'd just assume they carried the newbs, lol).

Had to take a break from the game due to frustration of being paired with retards who solo split push after 10 and keep getting constantly ganked so we are fighting 4v5 every time, or people who decide to try and get a boss when we are down 2 people, and the list goes on and on. I was being bad manners more and more because of frustration, so I decided to step away. It starts with trying to be cool, and give some advice on what not to do, only to be told stfu, you suck, dont give me advice, I play how I want.

Honestly, I think a lot of the venom starts with players who are ultra sensitive to advice (not in a good way), and players who are decent and are trying to help out just get fed up with trying to be nice because it can be so damn hard when you get ignored or told how much you suck, or be told to basically fuck off. At that point it is just easier to be a dick. Anyways, not quitting, spent too much money and time, just needed a break. But damn this game can be frustrating as hell when you get on a retard hero league streak.

I've literally never done that, but I haven't played more than 50 HL games. I just assumed I was paired with others near my rank.
