I think that player run servers are going to become the future of MMO's.
PC & MAC only. I'm out.
Unless Pantheon is extremely compelling, I doubt I'll ever play another game on PC. All they're good for these days are FPS and RTS games, and I'm long done with those genres.
How small is your home?I'm done sinking the money and the space in my home into my PC.
How small is your home?
You don't require an office at home at all? Seems odd.About 1400sq ft. - Turned my old computer room into a toy room for my kid. Now his shit isn't all over the living space of the house. Quality of life +10.
Sure, a gaming PC isn't some insane expense, but it's at least double what a console is. GPU upgrades every 3 years ($200), monitor ($200) & full rig upgrades ($700) every 6.... It's actually probably closer to triple.
The cost:benefit just doesn't work out for me any more.

You're upgrading too much imo
I don't really disagree with most of your numbers there but why are you upgrading monitors every three years?
steam link imo.You just misread it. Monitors get bought with every new rig generally - 6 years.
I mean... Maybe I could see an argument for a living room PC setup... But to get something that looks decent enough to be on display in the main area of the house it's extra coin for the tower... Then what do I do? Shop for a TV table that's the perfect height so I can play with a KB/M while perched on the edge of my couch?
I'd rather lounge with a controller.
steam link imo.
Those prices are Canadian, keep in mind.
Also, if I'm not upgrading that much I'm barely ahead of the graphical output of consoles... Further diminishing the benefits of PC gaming. You have to spend a certain amount for it to even makes sense IMO.
Found your problem!
I've been using the same tower PC since 2011, with one upgrade in the Summer of 2015: GTX 580 -> GTX 970. Have been using one of the monitors since like 2009? And the 2nd I bought in 2011 when I built the tower. Still run everything on very high/ultra np. I7 2600k, 8gigs DDR3, Win7 x64, GTX 970, couple SSD's.
Not sure why you upgrade monitors every 6 years, those things are expensive for decent ones.
