Okay fam, ... feelings on putting something over tile in the bathroom... I don't want to touch my toilet basically...
It's tile... wife really wants a new vanity...but it's an odd size 58inch so... anything we get outside custom will not just fit what's there now.
I don't understand. Are we not allowed to use the original pic, or the actual line from the movie? Is this supposed to mean the same thing, or does it mean something new and I'm out of touch? Am I that old?
Any recommendations for patching "chunks" of concrete? We have a front porch with the propane tank underneath it, which isn't used anymore. Nothing directly supports the concrete's middle, so it changes shape with the temperature and the bowing is pronounced in the summer. You can see water pooling on the steps. It has developed a quarter inch crack over the years that I've been patching with concrete but each summer->winter, it manages to squeeze a lot of the repairs out of the crack.
Is there a better way to do this outside of just replacing the porch? If not, what type of concrete should I be using the patch the crack?
Is the propane tank collapsing internally? I would inspect that because that could cause a quick and dangerous problem. Beyond that you could build it up with some verticals and horizontal rebar and mesh and pour over top to strengthen. You can do stuff like hydraulic cement as well which may help.
I would also be curious if the dirt is just drifting and the pad has a void underneath. A lot of time good footers are needed around the foundation to help mitigate this. Might be something to look into as well.
I wouldn’t typically expect to see bowing without some type of movement of dirt underneath due to erosion, railing tank, or drifting of pad due to no tie ins to foundation/ footers.
The tank does not support the porch at all. Basically, the space under the porch doubles as storage for the tank. There was some horizontal wood, but I doubt it was for support. It was likely the form for pouring. Half has rotted away.Is this thing suspended in the air?? If so you can add some support in the middle with some risers. Get cut tube steel with a flange into a concrete footer
i learned these are called closet bolts, thats all i can offer, haven't touched toilet stuff beyond replacing flappers and stuff. Also the little upside down T screws that the potty attach to have no place to sit... they just fall through into the death hole.

I can take some pictures tonight, if I get back home before sunset.Did you take any pictures?
Also deathwing give me a picture of that shit and measure the span (length of the suspended concrete) as well as the thickness of concrete.
Would also like to see pics of the cracks as well as the void underneath
No floor drain, it's bad enough the downstairs smells like shit. I'm pretty sure the gasket is goneRe no 3. Bowl water and trap water are more likely to evaporate in winter and allow sewer gasses in. If you have a floor drain that never gets used that's pretty common.
