I loved the first one, one of my top 5 of all time easily.

I liked the second one, mostly because I love the gameplay and it was still awesome but the story was disappointing, especially all the sidequests that were cut and paste..."Oh so and so is trying to prove themselves, but got into trouble, can you go save them" which was easily half of the basis for the sidequests.

I will play the DLC because I love the gameplay itself so much, but it's not like I'm super looking forward to it, I don't even know what the release date or what the name of it is. Hopefully the story is better, but I have low expectation.

It seems to be about a colony of Quen that are in Los Angeles. (Forbidden West is mostly San Fran / East Bay)

Plot is likely just what we expected at the end of the game with the missing Gaia aspects. More-of-same gameplay while someone tries to figure out how to make the end of the trilogy given the scope set up at the end of Forbidden West.

I loved the second one until the last mission was the most phoned-in shit I've seen since ME3.

Been playing this since it's free on PSN. Combat and general platforming is so much better than the first but the story is terrible, I just skip all dialogue now.

It'd be hard to top the first one's story.

They did do a great job with the invincible villains in the 2nd one though, felt really good to finally make them vulnerable after all the shit they pulled lol. I avoid DLC, but I'll play the 3rd one to wrap it up when it comes out.

I'd re-buy both games if they threw a PSVR2 mod up!

I thought the way they handled those big villains at the end was super lame, actually. It was more of a cutscene than a final mission.

That last mission off the coast should have been an entire anti-tutorial subzone. Where you'd have to use all your skills to navigate their island base and knock out shield generators, etc. Instead it all just happens in a cutscene and you never really even get to see much of the base.

Hate that any additions to the series will be missing Lance Reddick as Sylens.

A DLC was not on my radar at all. I was planning on replaying it on the PS5 as I did the upgrade thing around Xmas time for free. Guess I'll wait for the DLC to launch and do both then.

I think I'll just wait for this to come out on PC to reply and do the DLC, idk.

i remember 1 mission w/ the 1 arm, you gotta free or kill some elephant or something, that was cool

don't remember any other mission besides disappointment

HFW is an excellent game and I'll definitely play the DLC, although maybe not immediately since I'm playing the current POE season.

Been going back over completing quests for legendaries but fuck me if I can't stop rage-quitting with these melee pits. Hit R1, pause then R1 R1 R1 hold R2 release then R1 hold, scratch your vag, then release then shoot... yeah, I don't need that orange weapon so much.

I was barely able to finish the game. I usually like to at least complete most of the stuff a AAA game offers, but I couldnt wait for this one to end. I raved about the first one. Fat cheeks or not, I just didnt think this one was all that great and I probably skipped over a lot of the stuff that would make me like it more because I was trying to finish so quickly. The problem with this series, to me, is that I like the ancient lore, hearing/reading about it, more than I like the current day events happening in the game. The robot dino's etc. arent realistic for obvious reasons - but a lot of that other shit has a theoretical possibility of coming true.

I mean, if it was 40 bucks and contained the DLC, and I hadn't bought the DLC on PS5, I'd buy it.

The DLC is now out, but I have completely forgotten how to play the game and thus need to run around like a dipshit for awhile relearning the controls before I kick off the DLC mission. For example I have no idea how the potion pouch works in terms of which ones I'm carrying and/or why I have Medium Health Pots and not Large ones in my pouch.

Lance Reddick had recorded all the stuff for this long before his passing, so you still get to hear from him in this DLC.
