For anyone who wants to go for the platinum trophy, my understanding is that its pretty easy and requires 40-50 hours of time (doing all the side missions, hunter tasks, etc) BUT there is one thing you need to do that is not at all obvious and sorta from the start of the game - you have to pick the heart option in major, important conversations always.

I'm ~5 hours in and hopefully didn't fuck myself of the platinum since I just kinda picked whatever looked interesting as the choice without thinking about it. You don't need to finish the game at the highest difficulty or anything.

apparently near the end you have to get allies to help you, and they will only help you if you heart'd all of them (this is so goddamn stupid).

Upgraded to max inventory capacity, finished up the 1st area after the prorving, and also did my first Cauldron where I learned traps kick ass and I need to make more of those for harder enemies. That was epic. Felt like Tomb Raider / Zelda with the end boss. I barely killed it too.

I cannot wait to see what I can do with a trained Saw Tooth!

Just picked it up. Not far enough in to really critique, but holy shit is it fucking beautiful.

I hate when games force you to play tutorials like this though. Yawn.

Side note, anyway to force the camera to keep Aloy centered or on the right shoulder? I cannot fucking stand playing with left alignment and the only solution I see right now is to tap R3 to reset it. Just hoping I didn't have to do that all game.

Pretty much echoing what has already been said, playing on an PS Pro and a ks8000 and wow! Everything is just beautiful. Just hit level 16 and so far the story is pretty interesting and the gameplay is very well done. Figuring out weaknesses and setting up traps is very fun. Really hoping the story continues on the path it is on and we get a solid ending. This game is worth all the praises it has gotten so far.

I love this game, I'm like level 15 and still running around doing everything I can no matter what level.

I was starting to get a little sad with Horizon..then I was like "oh hmm forgot to do this cauldron thing". Damn that place was pretty cool. Got my interest back up thats for sure. Can't wait for this weekend so I can actually sit down and put some time in.

Tried the first hunter lodge straight out of the starting area, done the first one within 2 minutes (targetting the canisters) the next task killing them with logs I recon I could have been there for 10 hours and not done it. I laid some nice stun wire across both the valleys but I could not get them to run thorugh the valley they would go everywhere but there. Guess i need to up my game on this one.

I did the first "Cauldron" last night and, as Utnanyan mentioned above, discovered that traps should not be ignored and barely managed to beat the 'boss'. Even though I had taken one of those down previously the confines of the space were a massive handicap. I also, only after the fact, realized that I should start building up a supply of 'resist' gear and not ignore resist potions either.

I am truly loving this game. I spent the better portion of an hour just hunting non-robotic things to get the necessary bits to upgrade my carrying capacity and, in the process, came across new quests.

Are you sure that isn't something to do with your TV or cable box? Are you running the PS4 though anything that has an overlay? Try your TV remote instead.

I did that for about half of my last 2 play session, and now I have about 3 or 4 of the bag at maximum. Going to try for the rest tonight.

The fact that the world is so beautiful, and that I am enjoying the combat so much makes it fun to just wander around looking for stuff.

Just purchased but, fuck, I haven't quite finished Nioh yet. Nor has my new TV arrived (4K HDR QLED). I feel like I should really wait to play but I am a weak, weak man and the weekend is coming...
