The side by side is just harsh.

Astrid was blond and blue eye and stood out in every scene… this one blends in so much you cant tell her from anyone else

And Lilo and stitch had the most unintended sexy drawn character next to that movie where the “both?..both!” Meme came from…

Yeah the Astrid casting imo is wtf, but IF done right and her acting fits the character/role, who cares about her skin color. I don't
, I want well acted characters that fit our preconceived notions of the characters based upon the original animated movie. Done right it doesn't matter done wrong and you get shit movie.

At least they got the voice of stoic to BE stoic-gerard butler. Based on images they nailed the look of tuffnut the male twin...ruffnut, however, not sure about, again if played right will be fine, wrong and it will be glaring since she looks to be....just a bit overweight..though most of the Viking villagers in the original were.."stocky"

I know that is sarcasm but if the actors nail the role, it works. How often do we get eye candy and crap acting, we bitch about it, and comment about the looks in a I'd do her..or we get a combo of both shit looks and shit acting...I want -preferably both good/great acting and looks..in the vein of she fit the role...and the inevitable i'd do her comment.

You think this person was selected because she's a talented actor?

When you have an actor that cant possibly pass for the character, the only reason they even get an audition is woke bullshit.

""Acting ability"". ""Nailed the role"". These are all after the fact bullshit justifications for the initial woke decision.

In a sane world no actress that looks like that would even be given an audition for the role.

And all of this is obvious, and I'm tired of explaining it to people who for some virtue signaling, approval seeking reason feel compelled to pretend its anything but woke bullshit.

Yeah your being the bro plz meme bro…

Nothing is “eye candy” now days - we got like Sweeney and that’s just one obscure thing that got attention.

We have seen countless race swaps - Ariel… ANNIE…. Come on people stop justifying reverse “white washing”

True. While I admit, she might have been a dei hire, there is a possibi!ity, that she will be good, ill remain hopeful that she will be good in the role. Only time will tell.

If the actor is incredibly talented they can overcome an egregious miscasting. Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury, or Idris Elba as Heimdall. Astrid is meant to be a blond haired blue eyed viking. The nepo baby actress is not that, and probably not going to be an A lister.

She isn't just a diversity hire, she's a nepotism dei hire. Probably better odds of winning the powerball than her having any talent.

Neither of those were acceptable and in hindsight everyone should have opposed them more than they did. It wasnt acting talent, not even a little bit. As I already explained above, acting talent can only ever be an after-the-fact rationalization.

No, the reason we let it slide is simpler and dumber. None of us knew yet how bad it was gonna get. It was like "who really cares about Nick Fury anyway, and SLJ is cool"

And I did not speak out
Then they came for Heimdall
And I did not speak out
...
Now they cast motherfucking alien-looking black chicks in the place of every redhead and half the blondes in fucking everything, and even on a racist hive of scum and villainy like FoH, people still defend it

I decided to jump back into this amazing world because I've no new ideas for a story and I want a big paycheck.

Hopefully this bombs because it deserves to. I don't watch a lot of the CGI animated films but my wife likes them and we sat down one evening and watch it I don't know how many years ago and it was fun, I think we even watch the second one, and they're nice fun entertaining movies, why on Earth would you just make a live-action version of the same goddamn thing.

I know it's been said many times in the past but Hollywood is creatively bankrupt, thank you Rich Evans.

The books and OG trilogy is one of the few stories that are for kids that grow.

They are kids at the beginning, they grow up, there is loss there is actually character development, tragedy and love - they are also a real example of a good date, court, marry, kids, and family its really good and rare now days.

The black chick being all like “i wont be like /her/ I’ll be me!” Is bull crap- your an ACTOR to act as the character written that is well established and described and is a good character as she was meant to be and written as you dont need to change it.

I didn't realize there was a third one and I don't remember much about two so I think you might be right. I do remember the first one being really entertaining or a goofy CGI movie. Look if you're a kid it's definitely something that'll probably blow you away, but then again when I was a kid I saw stuff like The Goonies, Fright Night, Teen Wolf and Porkies, so my opinion is probably quite skewed.

2 had the death and finding missing dead parent, but the movie just didnt work like the 1st, 3 did the girl dragon typical Hollywood thing so I thought it was going to be a letdown but I know I liked it a lot more than 2.

Maybe I didn't watch the second one, so the dragon died in the second one? Honestly don't really remember that movie whatsoever

Stoick died in 2 protecting Hiccup from Toothless. Only thing I remember of that movie. 3 was a good ending to the series, the animation on movies always seems to go down, the animation on most marvel movies look like complete crap compared to Iron Man 1
