This is like a pedo getting offended by people not properly using the right specific term for an age range sub legal. Related:
There were homoerotic undertones in Interview; the tension was there. You wouldn't describe sexual tension between two men unless it was homoerotic. One requires the other.
Making it include outright gay sex is adding something that wasn't in the books, and changes the tone drastically. Instead of a couple of hot immortals that goth girls cream themselves over while eating haagen dazs that occasionally give each other lingering glances, you have a couple of dudes poking each other in the asshole. Fat goth girls are not into that shit typically. They might be into some weird bisexual stuff but a couple of guys railing each other's shitboxes is not what arouses your average fairykin.
It's changing the target demographic from one that includes a lot of people to one that is going to interest some shitty subset of 3.5% of the populace as an upper limit. It's a retarded idea and I hope they lose a tremendous amount of money on it.
Before it releases, the reasons the media will claim it fails is because of anti-alphabet sentiments and probably racism because one of those dudes looks to be something other than white.
edit - Not sure why they need to make every vampire gay/bi or whatever these days. They did the same shit randomly to Alucard in the Castlevania animated series. It was entirely unnecessary and only upset people; nobody -liked- the change.
They also do it with all the versions of Dorian Grey. Same "rationale"... They get bored of women.
