I wrote about it in the SPAC thread.

tldr: Space based satellite data company. Owns the satellites, sells the data to maritime companies, agriculture companies, NASA etc. Israeli tech company. Almost showing a profit already. Spire Global is the full name.
And...a loss for the quarter of .49 and falling hard after hours. Oh well.

Some context would be helpful.
She seems to completely gloss over her $3M loan, like somehow she doesn't have to pay it back?

Also, consider she said she'll be bringing in $85k a year with a (levered) $1M investment. For an 8.5% return. So...good for her, I guess? That seems like a piss poor return to me, especially for a leveraged investment.

Is options the only attractive way of putting money to something like SPIR situation vs just buying the stock. I am a peasant that doesn't know how puts and calls works.

No, but options are a way of leveraging a bigger position with less capital (buying calls), or try to buy the shares at a slightly cheaper price (selling puts). For example, you could buy the stock itself and if it goes up 5% you just made a 5% gain. But if you buy calls, that same 5% gain would become a 20-40% gain. Buying the stock is safer since the shares don't expire like options do. So its all about risk vs reward.

You can also do both. Go long some shares and also use options to make some extra scratch.

Jumping headfirst into options is how you end up as one of those WSB people that lost 600k dollars in 1 hour. A little bit of caution is probably a good idea.

Well there's a surprise. Umm not really.

Youch those numbers look bad. It's not just that they are bleeding money, its that their revenue sources other than international consumption are all trending down.

Every single time I do this, the stock goes down, and the calls go to zero.

Its why I'm not a trader. I always lose "trading".

I usually win "investing".

I tend to do dumb shit when bored tho . . .

So sell puts on stocks you want to invest in. You either get the stock you already wanted cheaper, or you get free premium and try again next week/month
