I put a limit at $1.30 for the Jan $20 strike. Lets see if it pops.I've been having a lot of success buying puts after the first 30 - 60 mins when certain names get their pop and than slowly fade. Did SNAP yesterday and SNOW today
Everything I have is at least a little green today (so far) other than MTTR which is way down, and oddly STAG which is only down like .3%.MTTR under 29, it doesn't have much support until 26
move back to 25-26 would be a nothing burger to the uptrend and be healthy to the long term. We want strong lasting uptrend not unsustainable spikes.MTTR under 29, it doesn't have much support until 26
Look at the last 3 months, it spikes up 30% followed by a 20% dip, so I don't see this going below 25 if it follows the current trendEverything I have is at least a little green today (so far) other than MTTR which is way down, and oddly STAG which is only down like .3%.
I'm not even mad at MTTR though. If it got back down to 20 I'd probably buy more rather than cry.
It would have been a better question yesterday at $307So, my cost basis for MA is $357 bc market order. Should I buy an equal amount of shares at $317 to knock my cost basis down in half and recover some of the pain I've inflicted upon myself?

Long term it is a solid buy. I would look at what percentage of your portfolio it would occupy if you double your position.
If 20% of your portfolio $$ is in MA I would not double to 40%It's currently 20%... Which is why I was saying earlier this week that I need more indexes, haha.
I'll get into others eventually, I just want that $357 cost basis to stop ruining my gainz! If 20% of your portfolio $$ is in MA I would not double to 40%
If you like the space, maybe look at V or SQ( if you don't hate Dorsey).
Bad move. I would never have 40% of my portfolio in a single stock unless is was an index ETF. You have to stop looking at stuff like that. And you have to start taking a long term view of stock investments. I am currently upside down in PYPL. It doesnt mean I obsess over my cost basis, it means the stock over-sold and I need to just be patient. V sub-$200 isnt a bad price at all. SQ is down 50% form its highs. Both of those would better choices than risking an oversized position like that.I'll get into others eventually, I just want that $357 cost basis to stop ruining my gainz!

Your gut feelings and emotions are a big part of the problem. $350 cost basis isn't "bad". You just need to ignore it as an investment and look to add other quality companies.Gotcha. My gut says HODL and just wait for the price to recover, but my pain says I need to reduce my cost basis and, "BTFD you idiot!".
My more reasonable thought of, "Hrmm, looks like I need to balance this account w FSKAX.", should ultimately win out.
A very good source for oil info...Oh and since TMac linked it, MPC has been pretty resilient through all of this latest up and down. Seems kind of surprising, but then I haven't been comparing it too hard to a lot of other Oil stocks either.
I wonder if putting some $ into oil or into FENY might be a good play? Hard to say with how stupid the gov is regarding executing energy policy lately.
