That was not a bar to sell, but I guess you know that now. When you see you were wrong why didnt you just buy back? Don't ever let an exit from a previous trade play into what you do after it.

I just try not to get too greedy, if im up 4-6% on a trade in less than a 24 hour period, that is pretty damn good for me, especially how the market has been. I assume others are looking at these gains the same way and try to get out before everyone else.

I live to fight another day! Hopefully with a more, stable environment in the days to come.

I havent had a bad trade in quite a while so might as well stick to what is working.

Would have been much easier to answer like 3 or 4 years ago.

Fixed income is tricky these days. Do some calculations on their financial needs post retirement and then see how much of a shortfall they are looking at. There are some solid blue chip dividend payers out there and many are on sale. ETFs like HDV, PFF and JEPI are options as well.

Extremely difficult position for retirees. One idea would be to at least put what they can into I bonds can buy them right from treasurydirect.gov $10,000 each per year. WIll at least give them an inflation hedge. Do they need income from investments?

They will need it sooner or later. I doubt either one is fully retiring for some years still, but they are planning on doing it fully soonish.

Loving all this green but of course we have the Fed later today. This could be a rug pull of epic proportions this afternoon.

Found out yesterday that my dad moved his retirement account into bonds in 2008. Said he wanted to put his money into something safe and saw the word "Fixed" as in fixed income. :: picard::
Can't decide if that's better or worse than my mom being in ARKK. I'm hoping she cut ties with it at some point on the way down.

I finally convinced my Father-in-Law to show me his "professionally managed" portfolio. He is nearly 80. I saw ARKK in his holdings when it was around $150 or so. I told him to get out of it. His response "I trust my guy".
