Moglyzoke Moogleman Moglyzoke Moogleman looks like the jump is based on earnings and China backstopping their markets. i cant stress enough to set some stops today. Unless you think this is going to run back up over $1 (I doubt it will), this spike and possible squeeze might give you an opportunity to recapture some of your paper loss.

I'm thinking about cutting and running. Up roughly ~$1500ish on the position. I'd already mentally written this off as a total loss so we'll see what price action we get today.

If you can trade pre-market and take the pop now and be happy with it then it isnt a bad idea if you are comfortable walking away. You can also wait till the open and see it it pops and immediately set a tight stop order to see if it can run a bit.
Its been fading since 8am

Total exit in ABBV and not a trim?
Few shrs left just the shares accumulated from dividend reinvestment. I will look to re enter but way OB for me. I'll watch how it behaves on consolidation and look to get on board again. It has so over performed during this market weakness that if the market is going to gain strength it may now have some give back as money rotates.

I am up 133% and its really tempting to bank it and wait for a re-entry.

Because it's big pharma I'm a little more likely to bank big gains. These companies are notorious for large swings up and down being so driven by current sentiment around drug flow. Just look at their charts. There will be opportunities in the future, this stock is on fire right now and it's hard to know where it will stop outside of companies this size usually only get so OB before cooling off, it's not exactly a small cap :)

It's a tough choice can be good to let winners run, and you know I'm not the biggest risk taker and lean towards taking gains in general.

I am somewhat emotionally attached to ABBV as I grabbed it after the Allergan announcement and I feel its one of the better picks I have made.

Pretty sad when being in the chinese markets is now a better environment than the US. With pretty much all of them getting kicked off our exchanges eventually, they have been "uninvestable" for a while now.

No need to be salty. I'm still down 10k on the position and it likely will shit the bed still.

What did you end up doing with your GLG? Sell, set trailing stop, nothing and pray?
Nothing and pray. The fact it hasn't dumped yet gives me hope. Again I wrote that money all off mentally so anything I get back is just gravy.

Edit* Also, I'm still not profitable so there is no guarantee that whatever I scalp wouldn't go right into another shit idea. This is why I'm not putting any more money in, either. I need to prove that I'm not fucking trash before I start burning more cash or chasing more bad ideas. And again, I've already been reallocating some money into names you've recommended. I just can't do it all at once.
