I've been around FoH since the old days of Furor running the joint. However, I really only spend any time in the finance threads now.

I just don't have time to argue with idiots anymore elsewhere in the forum.

ABBV is just un stoppable and with no material change in the company since it was $100/share . Sentiment is a powerful thing. The puts I sold are now worthless but don't really want to sell the May put on a up 2% day.

It's funny. My investment choices are more and more being guided less by pure numbers and more by esoteric inputs. I am basically in a fuck the airlines mode (I'm driving everywhere) and so I have no interest in buying airlines anymore. Same with DIS for different reasons.

Yeah I know in my head selling both were correct for me. Sometimes things just are crazy.

Is there any bull case for 2pm? If QT is a pathetic # of billion per month? .25 instead of .50 hike?

Weve seen some selling but were waiting around at 352 on the Q's for some reason to go up.

I saw some projection that doubling of previous QT is the equivalent of a .30 rate hike. if we come in at .25 + QT, thats pretty much a "oh" moment and we can easily head back to the 200D if this fed decision is a nothingburger.

352 is a QQQ pivot and what has paused the selling. SPY is following (for now).

I think we are going into lunch chop now until Fed 2pm.

14:00 *(US) FOMC MAR MINUTES: OFFICIALS GENERALLY EYED MONTHLY $60B CAP FOR TREASURY DRAWDOWN; MANY ON FED WOULD HAVE SOUGHT 50BPS MARCH HIKE IF NOT FOR UKRAINE WAR
- No decision yet on start of balance sheet drawdown; Participants expected it would be appropriate to begin this process at a coming meeting, possibly as soon as May
- Officials see balance sheet drawdown at coming meeting; Cap for balance sheet drawdown could be phased in
- Many say one or more 50bps hikes may be warranted
- May consider active sales of MBS holdings at some point ; Officials generally eyed monthly $35B cap for MBS drawdown
- Participants agreed uncertainty regarding the path of inflation was elected and that risks to inflation were weighted to the upside
- $95B in monthly caps may be phased in over a three-month period

One of the best things my dad did for me was help me set up an IRA at 16 and lean on me to put away a significant portion of my lawn mowing money. Hard to understate the power of 30 years compounding.

My grandmother gave all of us grandkids $5k worth of AT&T stock when I was 15 and I threw mine into an IRA. After that, though, I had no idea what the fuck I was supposed to do with it. Like, I get some dividends, and I buy more stock with the dividends, but right now that account is sitting at $9k value 20 years later. I have no idea what to do to actually get this money to do some work.

Ok done for the day and probably won't be on tomorrow morning too much happening at Farm/House build.

Sold SPY $447 puts 4/06 exp
BOUGHT SPY (Super small buy 100shares @ 457)
SOLD HD $285 Puts.

I want to see a little more pullback, but starting positions here. As we move towards 200d will become more aggressive if pullback looks healthy.
I rolled today's $447 puts into 4/14 $437 puts. Right near strike and I was tempted to take the shares but going to take the more cautious stance and wait to see another week of action.

Sold the $437 put for $2.82. This is not the type of action I wanted to see to get back to a more bullish stance. Lots of data points that looked positive that were making move up look like something more than a bear rally. Last two days eats into that case.

Bulls need to hold around this level to keep this from falling apart. Earning season begins soon.

You need to find out (if you dont know) what brokerage house the IRA was opened in. Once you have access to the account you can sell it and invest in another stock/index, let it sit etc (assuming you arent 59 1/2 yet.

Also T just spun off Time warner so you will be getting 0.24 shares of the new company for every share of T that you own.

Im not doing anything with the market right now. Sort of in no man's land in terms of prices of things I want to own. I did drop in a small order for AMD at $100 just to see if we get there. Got close earlier ($101.70). Part of me might cancel it though as I am pretty much capped out in the Tech sector but cant find a nice value in other sectors I like.

Yeah, I have access to the account, etc. I'm just clueless as to what to move the money into. Is there a general "set and forget" buy that probably won't do amazing but will at least slowly generate over time? I'm behind as hell now, but can still hope to get a little work out of it in the next 20 years.
