Yeah I wanted just a little lower, and was like frig it just selling puts . I want the shares though
I followed you on both. I keep seeing the odds of getting them at prices I really want to pay are slimmer and slimmer.

It's a starting point for me both could definetly go lower if we get a market correction. AMD is a tough call, the market loves to play favorites with semi's it will be AMD's turn again and I'd like to be along for the ride.

NVDA is not expensive on 2026 earnings. It's lack of participation means there is doubt to them hitting the numbers. I'm betting the leather jacket guy gets it done. I'd like a $60k position in NVDA and I screwed up in late summer just trying to get a little more out of it. Will start collecting premium until the market gives me what I want.

Huh? What a retarded post. First, it's cherry picking "this century" to make it seem outlandish. Which, yeah, 24 total data points. It's also going to end up 3rd highest unless something ridiculous happens to close out the last two weeks of the year.

If anything, it should be a disappointment for everyone that we pumped so much fucking money into the system and we still didn't have the best returns this century. It's not even notable when you include the last century.

Why bullish on chips end of year? I'd think due to tax loss harvesting things would dip.

I say that as someone who is hoping for a bullish move because I'm trying to get out of SOXL.

We are up like 36% this year.
What is the line in the sand where it's ok to say this century. We are inches from being 25% complete with this century.

I don't trade that short term.
I'm bullish long term on chip manufacturers to the extent that Trump can execute on his planned agenda of leveraging all means to repatriate production. But that is a process that will take years.

But tariffs up front? That will spike revenue for chip makers who can manufacture here and some overseas, unfortunately it won't spike earnings for US chip makers, as they will be investing to build the capacity to keep up. Assuming we have a long term trend to repatriation of the industry, which will hinge unfortunately on MAGA winning enough to keep winning in 2028.

What are you looking at. The S&P (which is what it's titled) is up about 28%.

And saying century gives people the idea that it's a large time period you're comparing...like say 100 years. Why did they decide to only do "this century" as opposed to "in the history of the S&P" which would've been more useful. Or "since 2000?"

We have had four big returns within just a handful of years (2019,2021,2023,2024).

I saw a stat that the market has only ever been down on a year that ends in 5 one time, I haven't looked into that further but if true that's pretty insane

Anyone have any thoughts on whole life insurance? Was getting some quotes for term and threw in one for whole. Came in about 4x the term quote, which didn't seem that bad. I know the general consensus in the investing community is it's not worth it, curious if there are any dissenting opinions to that line of thinking.

If you have 8-9 figures of net worth then it might be useful in estate tax shenanigans?
