Oh god I hate my life right now.

If only I had time to pour over the market for 12+ hours a day.

The market's always like this. Not worth thinking about or wasting time on the money you could have made, because there's always the money you can make.

retail sure.

but ONLINE retail???????

I spent a lot of time thinking about this last night. I think that not doubling down hard on online retail when COVID hit is one of those once in a lifetime opportunities that people will be reminiscing about all their life. Literally takes a black swan event like a worldwide pandemic to open up those kinds of opportunities.

In addition to Overstock's 60x increase...

Wayfair: 18x increase since March

CHewy: 3x increase

Etsy: 5x increase

Carparts.com: 16x increase

I just went down the list of all “Internet & Direct Marketing Retail” in TD Ameritrade and every single one was up from 2x to 60x in past 5 months

My regret in online retail was not buying AMZN at $1600 in March. But it is what it is. In hindsight, I would have held on to my WMT I got at $100 instead of selling it for a tidy profit.

Easy there sparky. Did I not give y'all VTIQ/NKLA at like $15 a share before it went to $90 and SHLL at like $10 before it went to $40? Even Babe Ruth missed the ball occasionally.

Seriously though, I think PSTHU is going to hit a longball eventually (Bill Ackman's Godzilla SPAC). I also have a good feeling about GMHI. Every autonomous car needs a Lidar system. Volvo and Toyota are backing the Luminar Lidar system and and Peter Thiel is mentoring the kid who invented it and runs the company.

Yeah but I didn't buy those. Lol

Still think Nikola is junk.

I have half a dozen of The things you pimped, and I have no idea what they are or what I'm supposed to do with them.

Just waiting for big green numbers.

Anyway, you know I'm just jerking your chain. We all missed the 20/20 hindsight OMG plays

NKLA is vaporware. I am sure of it. Hyllion (SHLL) I believe is a real company as they actually have a factory, employees and sales.

What I am currently sitting on in SPAC land:
BFTU - Just went public, no partner yet. Large SPAC (1.4 billion or so). Bill Foley's 4th SPAC he has run. He is the Chairman of Fidelity National Financial
FVAC - Merging with MP Materials in the US rare earth play.
GMHI - Just announced merger with Luminar (makes Lidar for autonomous vehicles)
NFIN - Announced merger with a Fintech named Triterras
PSTHU - Bill Ackman's $4 billion Godzilla SPAC

AAL just announced staff cuts and doesn’t expect normalization of air travel for years. That jump in travel stocks yesterday might start feeling the heat again. (For the countless time again in months)

Weird, because I just saw something that said the CDC revised their guidelines that air travel and interstate travel are no longer recommended for having a 14 day quarantine. Seems like that'd be great news for the airlines.

I think they are putting the pressure and grease on for congress to give the airlines another 25 billion. That amount has bi partisan support, just waiting on stimulus bill to attach it to.

I'm up on average between 20 to 60 percent on my airline holdings, but still waiting for the "real" rise, post vaccine + more free govt. money and also most likely some mergers.

AAL is still below 50% of what they previously did in terms of capacity. Business is not returning yet and those cuts are optimistic. People don't want to travel when you can't do shit where you are going most likely. There most likely wont be a return to business until the virus is done, and AAL is going to do everything they can to grovel for government money. I'm sticking to my position that their situation will worsen into october and they probably wont get a bailout before the election.

Witnessed in Oregon and spoken about in here. People who normally travel have spent their travel budget on road trips, RVs and other shit. Hence the explosion in sales of all of those things. People will get a taste for it and the ide of the Great America Road Trip or other domestic sight seeing vs going to fully enclosed resort in Cabo San Lucas will be more normal.

It will indeed be years before people return to the previous norm if at all in the next decade.

I'm of the mind that airplane travel will come back in a couple years. They are just too damn convenient and fast in comparison. That said I love them, and am glad Boat/RV sales are going nuts. Great thing for me, because when all of these RV/Boats hit the market again in 10-15 years, I'll be looking to buy and that will help me get a great deal.
