Are you insinuating I don't read this thread? Lol

Tbh, I don't think anything really compares to Tesla, just with sheer value.

It's the most valuable auto maker in the world, and has made half a million cars?

Everyone thought it was bananas over valued at 400/share, now it's screaming up to 650

It's just fucking nuts.
The entire EV space is morphing. Its starting to become a serious investment sector. The challenge is sorting out all the worthless shit companies that are in it to find the gems.

It's just awe at seeing what I thought was a good decision to sell at what I thought was a high point turn into a missing out.

I've done almost as well as if I had just kept the Tesla, at infinitely more work and stress. Lol

This is why the ideal trader is a sociopath. No emotions. At the time you made the trade based on the "available" data, it was a good play. If the day after you sell a stock the company declares bankruptcy you made the right call but it had nothing to do with the bankruptcy because it was a future event. I do my absolute best to avoid "I shoulda" second guessing. I look at the factors that led to my decision and see if i can find a mistake with my methodology. If there is no mistake then its the right call "at that point in time".

If you sell some calls and based on 2-year backtesting the odds of you being assigned are 5% but a day after you write the option the company discovers workable cold fusion, did you make the wrong call? No.

Pigs take their profit and are happy with it. Hogs stay at the trough and once in a while they get fatter. More often then not they get slaughtered. Don't lament the once in a while. Play the percentages that are in your favor.

ps.. I am in the same TSLA boat. I traded it three times for profit. I did not see this explosion upward coming.

Post split I sold 14 shares @410 with an adjusted cost of 320 iirc. It was the right move at the time as it was a huge chunk of my tiny portfolio. Still suuucks to see

Tesla offering. Stock tanked $40 a share on the news. I have a feeling the fanboys will be buying the dip.

This is why Elon rocks it. The fucker takes advantage of every move financially. Stock at an all-time high? issue another bazzilion shares to create liquidity. That 40$ drop in stock price is nothing compared to 5 billion in liquidity.

I originally bought at 250 pre split, sold at 420 post split.

It's like any other wild vertical. "If I had bought Tesla, flipped it, then into Palantir, then into LAZR, with 100% of assets and leveraged debt, I could have X million"

It's dumb as hell, but occasionally I still find myself doing it.

Hopping off thinking it would have to come back to reality, when most people don't live in reality, was prolly my mistake.

If it crashes I'll be back screaming I was right. Lol

Things to consider in the space are companies in the supply chain and other EV manufactures that might get bought up. Don't discount NIO. Its hard to trust its numbers since its a Chinese company, but it has marketshare and possibilities. They are just risk filled possibilities.

We are going to have to consider an intervention for you. When a stock does this in 4 trading days its probably a bad idea to be selling puts. I like this company a lot, but this stock price is not being driven by anything rational. It is going to come down. Sometimes the best trade is the one you don't make. I would love to add to my position in LAZR but now isn't the time. Let this wave of euphoria pass. I think this stock is a $20 - $25 stock right now. At most. Unless you sold puts down in that range for pennies I would honestly advise you rethink this move. Parabolic moves up are almost always followed by sharp moves back to the mean. Just look at PLTR for a recent example. God love ya, but you are a crazy biatch.

To piggy back on this, I posted a detailed valuation of them a few pages back, puts them at around 17-20 dollars. I think the Jan 20/22.5$ puts look attractive for their premium

Yeah the trick would be to wait for a real pullback before pulling that trade to get better premium.

Looks like some folks might be heading to the door on LAZR. Down about 4% all of a sudden. We will have some folks "buy the dip" and then its a question of are their enough bagholders to overcome the rush to the door. The answer to this question is almost always... no.

Down 7%. The run for the door is beginning.

Yeah. I like both stocks actually because I think the space has enormous growth potential. Just not at crazy prices.

The units just split into shares and warrants so this is a long timeframe until they find a merger partner. I am going to wait a bit and hope it drops under $11. Failing that I will wait for options to open up and write puts on it to pick up shares. Thiel makes pretty good investments.
