Anybody else liking Intel at <50 with Alder Lake imminent? I feel like it might finally be a competitor, but I don't like their pricing on the 12900.

Not a competitor. Runs way too hot and power hungry.
Sure, that's how Intel has been "competing" for a while now - just jack up the processor speed to the moon. I'm more thinking of the 12600 or the rumored 12400 for the "low-end" markets. I think their days of competing for the "high-end" markets are over for the foreseeable future. I just see them as undervalued at $48 on the heels of what seems like one of their "best" releases since probably the 8xxx series.

You wonder why people want to short irrationality. DWAC is down 50% the last few days. Shorts have been feasting. I tried to short it and got this message:

"No shares of DWAC available to short. Call your broker to try to locate some shares."

I wasn't going to short it with real money, it so volatile that the shares can drop 10% and still be in buy or sell channel! That's not really fun to trade. I try to stay at 1% stop loss, it just gets too hard to get solid confirmation.

iirc they just revised revenue lower this earnings which is why they got kicked in the balls. Reality is Intel is in a shit situation until 2023 at the earliest as their nodes are garbage and AMD(TSMC) is killing it. The only reason AMD hasnt taken even more market share from Intel is because AMD is supply constrained from TSMC.

Though Intel is seriously begging for some corporate welfare from the Feds under the guise of chip shortage/national security. Im sure that would be a big boon to their stock price if they got some sweet heart deal.

I have a little in Intel with sub-50 cost basis more for the foundry side of things. WIth the chip shortage, politics in Taiwan, US companies don't want to have to rely on TSMC as much as they currently do. Intel falling behind TSMC in their nodes is the main reason AMD and Apple have surpassed Intel performance. Intel has finally decided to build a contract foundy business, and the US govt is probably going to give them money to help. If they had done this 10 years ago the landscape would be completely different, but better late than never. TSMC's market cap > (Intel + Qualcomm + AMD), which shows there is value to be gained here even if they only get a smaller chunk of the market.

I'm hoping that Intel's current business keeps their numbers afloat, but for the growth I'm looking 2-3 years out for them to start manufacturing for US companies. Could definitely go lower though before it goes higher, but at some point the market will start to look forward to that happening unless Intel keeps sucking that badly.

There are 53 EV's on the way from other manufacturers. Ford and GM are light years ahead in terms of quality and reliability. If you are buying an EV, would you want to be with a company that will make a vehicle that will last, or TSLA that is pretty much dead last in the industry right now? And you have way more service options, they have GM and Ford dealers on every street corner.

I wonder, does anyone think that a year from now, TSLA stock will be higher? The Ford Mustang EV is stealing sales from TSLA 1:1.

Glad I ignored all the Analysts that kept saying to sell Ford. Up 7% on earnings.
