I bet he was planning to sell some stock to move funds to SpaceX. It's latest funding round had it valued at $100 billion. He could end up making more out of SpaceX than Tesla.

There were rumors it would go via SPAC but the valuation is insane. Currently valued at 100b, it would be the most insane IPO. I think it will eventually and very similar to Tesla with Musk controlling the majority of the shares. I think Starlink "could" be the cash cow if it can get real penetration numbers.

The spac rumor was Starlink, since debunked of course. (PSTH). Musk has himself said that he would spin off Starlink as its own company and go public "once it was profitable".
