Not that 25.5 was a great number or anything, but uh, yeah...

Today seems to prove my point that it's a worthless "metric" anymore (or the people buying VIX options are colossal fucking morons).
Here is how I look at it. Like lots of other metrics in the market, they really shouldn't matter but they do to algos and then become self fulfilling prophecies. Same with Moving average numbers. They only matter because algos are programmed to act on them.

Whatever you want to think about today's selling, it is very important to note that this is still quite an orderly sell. Grinding lower. We haven't even begun to see capitulation and accellerated downside. Just something to be aware of if you are out there thinking of swinging for longs in this environment.

Something of note. (SPY) channeling over the last month (Daily chart). This is quite a small timeframe in the scheme of things, but so far has respected it.

WMT sitting above some support around $119 and if it fails then could drop to about $108. Market being what it is I am going to wait and see at $118 and if it fails I will be a strong buyer at $108.

Looks like we are going to bounce from here, most convincing TA I've seen yet.

This is trying to trick me into dollar cost averaging instead of just capping out my retirement accounts at the start of the year.
