He might be back.

I think the chicks and the mummy tomb are just an easter egg that never goes anywhere, but hopefully I'm wrong.

ep-7. interesting they are finally introducing some of the other heroes. even if its just on screen, no names or anything.

And have Brit now. Brit was also Kirkman/moore. so, no licensing problems I guess.

I assumed the Powerplex arc was there to teach Mark to limit collateral deaths in his Omni-man stand-in rematch. Makes the time with Powerplex even more irrelevant.

It's been too long since I read the comics, was the Hellboy reference helping take over hell in the original?

less about that, more about the ideas of "no kill", etc. marks current "no kill, just imprison forever" is obviously retarded. Cecil's point of view, to put the criminals work to do good, is obviously a step in the right direction. Redemption. what is the point of prison, if there is no hope of redemption?

Kind of like how we see Eve taking courses to learn structural engineering, so she can actually build shit with her powers.

Powerplex then complicates things of course. has a legit grievance. will not accept help.

never read the comics. is ep8 the last of this season? lots of throwbacks, if this show was just a bit better I could rewatch from season 1.

Yeah, that's it for Season 3. The show was renewed for Season 4, with people guessing it'll release ~ a year from now.

yeah. Damien Darkblood was Etrigan/Jason blood mixed with Detective Chimp. but, the hellboy comparisons are understandable.

definitely a much better season than season 2 but still its not 10/10 tier yet, I think they could have held off Conquest to season 4 and spent 2 or 3 episodes on the Invincible War. That just felt super short for what seems like it should be super momentous with big rippling changes to the world.

I know its unfair but man its hard not to make MCU comparisons so often, like Atom Eve felt like Phoenix. Conquest was pretty cool and I wished they had run that for 2 episodes, have him toying with Mark a lot more involving his mom, random civilians. I think the story gap is that they keep telling Mark to "prepare Earth for conquest" but don't really expand on what that means or have any penalties for Mark not following through.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan was the VA for Conquest, he killed Glenn on TWD 9 years ago who was played by the VA for Invincible, Stephen Yuen. pretty neat

Animation quality has also gone down.

Invincible war was a single issue in the comics.. but, given the nature of animation. yes, should have been multiple episodes. really showing off the fights.

and done SOMETHING for the cameos. Spawn, Velocity, badroc, techjacket, savage dragon, darkness, witchblade.. something.. again, even the Invicible heroes don't even get names. we don't know any of their backstories in the show. they are moving too fast on a lot of stuff.

Conquest was 4 issues. 5 if you include the funeral, and aftermaths. Amusingly.. eve getting wrecked by Conquest was 4 panels.
artistry is way down though. angles are boring and just straight on. lightning is extremely basic.

They literally copy these two panels... but objectively worse. flat and boring.

they aren't teasing the Martian mind control parasites spreading in the show.. edit, oh, no they do tease at the end.

I don’t think Darkblood shows up again in the comics but Kirkman said he wants to do a spinoff with him.

I was a little disappointed with the fight at the beginning but when he leans in and give that speech about how lonely it is being him I enjoyed it a ton. Jeffery Dean Morgan did a great job.

It should have been a full two episodes though because that fight in the comics is brutal and awesome.

You know Kirkman probably wanted Jeffery Dean Morgan for that purely because it "Glenn's revenge" lol
