My impression, from just the show, was that he was there to get a chance to fight a Viltrumite. So he probably turned himself in for something or got "caught."

Speaking of power levels, that is my only grievance with the show. Is Mark strong or not? Make up your mind. One episode he is going toe to toe with a Viltrumite, the next he is having trouble with the Maulers.
Other than that, this last episode got me more interested again. The overall VIltrumite arc is what I am vested in and Omni Man in general. I don't really see a believable redemption arc for that character, but who knows. Also wouldn't mind know who is spying, that could have some legs.

I think its still fine, but I wouldn't pay for an Amazon subscription just to watch it.
Obivoulsy that Season 1 finale will be tough to ever match, but I think my biggest issue with the show is the same as superhero media in general - the multiverse.
There are so many alternate timelines (to say nothing of clones, robot bodies, and replacement limbs) that there's no clear stakes anymore.
The Mauler Twins were (iirc) the very first super villains we see in the show, and their deaths should be impactful - if I had any reason to believe they'll stay dead.

If you hate Mark I have great news!
He lives forever and many of those years are in misery.
As far as power scaling goes Mark holds back most of the time because it is a child, once he grows up that shit mostly stops.
Allen the alien continues to be best part of the show.

I thought the person spying was another version of the multiverse megamind faggot from season 2? They had a very short stinger at the end of one of these recent episodes with him staring at a screen talking at Mark.

I get why but also Savage Dragon shows up a few times, Cecil is way more nuanced and human etc. While it is cool to see this stuff in action the comic overall is a better read. Show is up to about 54 but they skip some stuff or go out of order.

I stopped mid-season 2 because I was getting annoyed.
Can anyone tell me if Amber is dead? Or off the show? Or at least hardly ever shows up? I'm thinking of watching again but I see no reason to raise my blood pressure if I don't need to.
I read the comics, and when they made Amber a huge focus on the show it really pissed me off. Almost as much as when they made Eve fat in the comics, because muh skinny privilege. Please tell me that hasn't happened at least?

Eve isn't fat (yet at least) and Amber did show up in the latest episode, but her role is greatly diminished since she and Mark broke up.
