A Mod Real Quick
It all depends. Depends on accidents, traffic stops, cosmic rays, moon phases. Boston traffic at best is completely unpredictable
Maybe take a month off between jobs once you get an offer too. A little downtime might be just what you need.If you sent me a pic of 4 fine asses and then my wife's who knows which I would pick!
I started looking last night anyways, not really looking forward to all of this so soon.
Oddly enough I got a strange email at my work email which I don't give out asking if I want to do firmware dev for this random company. Can't tell if when I listed my new workplace in my profile if people just knew how to email me at the company or if someone is tricking me.
In my software dev days when I was consulting I'd try to engineer myself a week or two between projects just to chill out. It really did lower the stress level and help family time and make me not feel bad when I'd still be working at 8pm later. With me being the only one working a month might be hard to swing (we have the savings.. but it's still a decent hit). I'd want at least a week or two though. At my last job I was offered employment 6 months before graduating.. graduated on a saturday and started monday. Then I quit there on a friday and started here on a monday...
I was playing around with this a bit more and if you put "SQL" as an expertise it deducts 2 grand from your salary lolSpeaking of jobs and websites listing them..Been playing with this today:

Fun.
1. Unlimited time offI know its bad Noodle, but look at this coldly.
Will you lose vacation time?
How is your company 401k vesting?
How much of the bonus do you have to pay back?
It may be worth toughing it out for a 5-6k payout.
For example i left my company in March, had i stuck until may, i would have gone from 80% vested to 100% vested. Meaning a good 3-4k was lost. If i would have known that I would have phone it in for 1-2 more months.
If you were an Application Programmer I'd refer you to VMware :\1. Unlimited time off
2. 100% since day 1
3. Pro-rated to whenever I leave, no idea. I'm not going to ask either.. that's awkward. They only told me I'd have to pay back a percentage based on when I leave.
I'm just looking now, not committed to anything.
I don't even really know Java. I'm sure I could pick up such an inferior language though. If you were an Application Programmer I'd refer you to VMware :\
CAN YOU GENERIC JAVA PROGRAM?
Yeah when I left my last job I cashed out and it was a nice little bonus. The downside of unlimited PTO is you can't cash any time off out when you leave. I'm currently sitting on 6 weeks salary from PTO accumulation if I were to leave my company.

They have a "premium" service. Though they may make the bulk of their money through selling their customer information and targeted ads. Some of these sites, I really have no idea how they make money. It's there, and some people use it, but I don't know anyone who pays for it. How does Linkedin make money? No fucking idea. $26B??
