Also apparently it's a thing here where a ton of people quit right after bonuses are issued. When my boss told me that is when I started thinking of leaving.

Thats common anywhere that bonuses are issued. Would you leave a company a few weeks before a bonus was issued?

Thats why I assumed Blizzard spread theirs out in such a fashion where you're never too far away. The longest wait is from March until August. The payouts are in March, August, December.

I'd expect them to cut a lot of the useless older people who get paid too much.

Have the official offer in hand now ready to be signed. I'm freaking out. This is such an enormous change. I generally don't bet on myself this heavily to completely uproot and move cross country.

This is the best time to do it!.

Goodluck. This is an excellent chance to get a brand name on your resume. (Even if I dislike Blizzard products I won't deny they product a decent product.)

I really think this will be a win for you even if the job isn't what you thought. Getting to move to a new place (a very highly regarded place, at that), getting to experience a VERY popular/well-known name brand software place, experience in the gaming industry, and a pay raise to boot (if they pay their bonuses.)

Even if it sucks and you quit in 2 years and move back to Ohio or whatever, you'll have an experience that you'll probably talk about for a lifetime. (When I was at Blizzard, I... )

Go for it bro. Enjoy and report back, and don't give in to any temptation to reveal anything about Blizzard that would cause you to stop posting here.
