After watching many films for 30+ years you figure out the patterns, the recipes, the beats that the script goes through. This makes almost every movie predictable and repetitive, even if you never seen it before.
Joker 2 is the first movie in many many years that kept me guessing the plot. Even though I'm pretty familiar with the whole Harley Quinn and Joker saga from games and comics, I had no idea what to expect and couldnt figure out where this was going. I enjoyed watching it simply because of that. The plot was middling though and the musical numbers were obnoxious.
