Yep even the producers who demanded he make their message have to be blacklisting him for not even recouping a fraction of the budget on a billion dollar previous success. They expect a loss but the disparity is unable to be ignored.

Even Phoenix has taken a hit. His agent immediately pulled him from that gay movie he was supposed to do as soon as the reviews on the Joker sequel came back. The gay movie was just about to start production, so it's relatively unprecedented to back out so close to filming.

I couldn't care less about that idiot. Sure he was a great piece of shit in Gladiator 30 years ago. That's about it. Joker 1 was an okay movie but again, he just played himself, a useless weirdo.

He's good in The Master, Inherent Vice, You Were Never Really Here, and Beau is Afraid although I don't know if I'd rewatch any of them.

It's something. I don't know if I'd call it a good film, but the first 45m-1hr are fucking hilarious, and Phoenix is great all the way through.

Right after the The Master wrapped filming is when Philip Seymour Hoffman broke his sobriety, leading to his death. He was never sober again after The Master. The subject matter of the movie probably had something to do with it.
