Dude, you put the man on ignore and STILL respond to all his posts. Also, while you are one of the posters I like the most on these forums, you have completely gone off the deep end with Tanoomba. Hell, I was saying exactly what he was saying in regards to the negative effects of slurs and you were foaming at the mouth when responding to him and yet responded to me fairly civilly.

So yeah, I look forward to the rational Hodj on other subjects. I think if it wasn't the personal feud atm with Tanoomba you might actually agree with us. Not that the feud is even remotely all your fault or anything. Tanoomba's sig quote is a perfect example of Tanoomba not thinking about a subject rationally.

I am not going to attempt to prove to you that racism is bad. I am a math major, so I consider racism being bad as one of the axioms of my life. It is one of the premises I use when trying to come to a decision about other things. I was taught this by my mother. I am sorry your parents didn't teach you the

Why do you keep bringing up political correctness and whether it is helping the black ghetto? What does that have to do with me saying racism is bad and widespread use of racial slurs is bad?

Here's the problem with the argument you're trying to make, and why I keep referring to it as irrelevant:

Not being a racist prick does not equal being politically correct. I never said being politically correct would help black people, you projected that. I said that making racist comments endorses and helps perpetuate racist attitudes. Regardless of whether "American Inventors gonna Kang" is uttered with non-racist intent, it is an extremely racist statement and casually tossing it around in discussions about race very much sends the message that it's totally OK, even expected, to make extremely racist statements. It normalizes and encourages racist attitudes, which happen to have a negative effect on a lot of people, even today. Instead of asking me to prove something I didn't say, why don't you tell me where I'm wrong in this paragraph?

I am not asking you to prove that racism is bad. That is not your hypothesis.
I have already addressed you about your question and mystanceon racism. I know when I see racist and I know that my parents are one to a degree. I know when I see a real goddamn racist. Koreans are racist and I find myself uncomfortable around them. When you meet real racist, we can talk about making fun of them together.

But that's not a question that I am asking. I want you to prove to me how racial jokes/slurs in this goddamn forum perpetuates more racism. Prove to me how our satirical approach is harmful to blacks. How our racial jokes which are largely targetted towards their culture, ethic, and, well, odd names are going to harm blacks.

Burden of proof is on you. Not us. We know what we are going for. We know what we want from our jokes. Do you know what you know, Khalid? Do you know what you are talking about?

Never having seen it, it does sound like it uses racial stereotypes. However, not all racial statements are serious. They can be joking and that is clearly satire and a comedy. I am not joyless and mocking racism and stereotypes can be a good thing.


To take another example, I don't like it when people joke about rape. I think too many men are quick to blame women for rapes and in general I think rape isn't taken seriously enough. That being said, this is fucking hilarious.

Easy, go back to the beginning of this thread. It started off as a fairly civil discussion. Then people started with the racial 'jokes' or slurs or whatever and it kept getting worse. Finally they cracked down on it and the discussion got back to something we could work with. But ask yourself, in the worst part of that discussion, would you have felt comfortable as a person new to these forums to post when it would involve your post being surrounded by 'Kangs gonna Kang', "chimpout 2013 LOL' and dumb comments like that? I think you are fooling yourself if you say yes.
