it's just men complaining about women. one of the problem that i encounter whenever I see that is quick assertion to the point that those who complain about women are sexists. Not so. It's just part of their experience.

No, I don't think that posts on the internet can be interpreted as examples of real world behavior. Except in Tanoomba's case.

Its clear he's one of the most racist posters this forum has ever seen. Racist, sexist, and homophobic to boot.

Well, I guess I just disagree on this. I tend to think if someone posts like an asshole, they are probably an asshole. If they post rationally, they are probably a rational person. If they spend most of their time online ranting about how stupid and irrational women are, Im probably going to assume they really dislike women.

The idea that groups of women aren't sitting around complaining about men when they're by themselves in the same way men complain about women when they are by themselves, is of course laughable. I've been married a very very long time. I know how women act together. There's nothing sexist about it, its just how people behave. If my wife didn't complain about me and I didn't complain about her when we weren't around, that would be fucking strange. We complain about each other when we're together too. Does that mean we're sexist against each other?

Depends on proportionality.

I dunno who you're referring to, but the idea that the entire forum can be painted as racist sexist homophobes because one or two people are serious and ten or so people are trolls who think its funny is a big stretch.

Yeah. That's the way I see people complaining women on this forum. There is little venue to complain about women. With your friends, they tell you, "man the fuck up." With public, well must be sexist... On internet, we are more free to do that without social pressure and obligations and assumptions. Gotta love internet.

Sure, I agree with that. A great example of that is the Girls who broke your heart thread. However, if someone spends 100 pages arguing that it is pointless (and a sign of weakness) for men to have a friendship with a woman and that women are just genetically inferior, well, that guy is probably sexist. Same if someone is constantly jumping into threads tangentially about race just to start shouting shit like "Kangs gonna Kang" or "chimpout", etc, either is trying to mock those very people or is a racist themselves.

That doesn't mean the entire forum is sexist or racist obviously. However, consistent posting patterns for 1000s of posts I think are pretty good evidence about someones character.
