I've never been mounted in a real fight, but from my experience "fighting" my friends growing up - this is where you gotta get dirty with a nipple, toe or finger hold.

lulz. Maybe against someone who knows how to reverse. But the average person, who is mounted and being pounded has no clue how to get out of it. Maybe I'm biased because I know how to get out of a mount. Either way, I got sidetracked from my original point which was the fact that Martin being on top of Zimmerman does not make it impossible for Zimmerman to have gotten his gun out.

Nowhere did I say I thought that was more likely. I'm saying it's a possibility and since GZs story doesn't seem all that likely to me I was theorizing about whether another scenario was possible. I could see a scenario where TM either holds the arm with the gun down or ignores it / doesn't know about it until it's too late. I'm trying to find a way to believe what GZ said happened but it's kind of difficult so I'm thinking of other possibilities.

There are an infinite number of less likely scenarios. I'm not grabbing for shit except trying to figure out how to believe that TM saw the gun and was going for it and GZ somehow was able to beat him to it and get it out of his waist band while getting his ass beat (while mounted).

How was GZ carrying the gun anyway? I had sorta assumed he had it in a shoulder holster, but maybe Florida's concealed carry laws don't have a restriction against gun printing? Either way, I can't imagine that I would ever keep a pistol in my waistband.

Good point, maybe that's the answer I'm looking for. I haven't paid close attention to the whole thing but I either heard somewhere or assumed that it was in his waist band (since it has to be hidden).
