Swing hate is still ridiculous, and nukes are still super light. So rogues, zerkers, and monks are basically hate machines while my wizard can piledrive shit without any attention. Of course warriors have a decent chance of holding aggro off of pure melee because their hate is primarily swing based as well. Disturbed is a warrior, not an SK. I've been getting stun ratcheted up over and over so that I can actually hold aggro off melee occasionally. It's probably too strong, but I have to compensate with obscene melee skill caps and swing hate. If you can't hold aggro off your rogue with snare then snare hate should be improved.

I still lose it to monks and the such, but not to the same degree I was before. And AC seems to be nigh irrelevant in most/all content.

New changes to stuns has caused my bard to easily pull aggro from my sk if I used my Ssoy and Harmonic dagger at the same time. Moved to the dagger and a Crystaline short sword instead of the yak. SK spells or debugging type spells use to be massive aggro but right now they are meh.

Somebody sell my bard a salindrite dagger already.

Post on the forums. I can't tell them when snares are good enough. They seem flexible and receptive to constructive criticism. If they can tone down melee swing hate I may be able to hold aggro with weaker stuns. We have to balance around the outlier, and they haven't responded to my suspicion that it is the outlier. Bards certainly shouldn't be pulling aggro, but stun procs should be avoided by dps here just as they were on live.

I'd really rather detach warriors from reliance on procs too by getting the provoke CAs added. RNG shouldn't be something any tank has to rely on to manage their basic responsibility.

Did you not play Live? lol. The entire point of the introduction of hate procs was exactly this. Admittedly it was a crutch to a broken mechanic for warrior aggro, but it's the way SoE went with it in the end. KP Devs would be going in a custom direction with this change you suggested. Some people have been pissing and moaning because "X wasnt like live! nerf nerf nerf".

Re Bard aggro: Agraza is right. Stuns always had a noticeable amount of aggro inherent with them. Dual weilding stun procs probably isnt the best idea for aggro avoidance.

Was just saying a single stub proc weapon on my bard out Aggros all my spells being chain cast by my so with the sword from zlandicar. I just let the bard tank sometimes because AC doesn't seem to matter.

No, what SOE went with in the end is the provoke CAs and shield specialization. Dual wielding procs has been phased out. All tanks use shields, hate foci, hate abilities, and procs. EQ didn't end when you stopped playing it.

Seeing as how this is custom, we may as well ask for the eventual fix to be reached earlier. Proc rate right now is completely retarded still. It was too high after the nerf.

Excidium are you chaining snare? Not even sure what you're tanking with, but snare was top SK hate until OoW xpac.

I just realized last night how badly BL pets are nerfed, its pretty brutal.
As i'm looking up where to get my 54/56 pet buffs, i see that the proc is supposed to be doing ~125 and ~136 damage per proc. Currently its cut directly in half, so I get 66 damage per proc, which is absolutely horrendous DPS when you're mid 50s/60.

I can totally see this being OP at lower levels, BL pets would absolutely dominate everything until the 50s, but once you're at the point of the end game our pets become really shitty DPS. I also think they would probably be the best DPS in the game if the pet did full damage + the player using 2 SoDs... the proc damage would be insane, thus completely reverting the damage nerf would be kind of silly.

Am I in the wrong to want to see a incredibly fundamental part of a class get a slight boost in damage? maybe adjust the nerf from 50% damage up to 75%? at least that way the pet procs would be doing ~100 instead of 66 heh

There is discussion right now to reduce that BL pet nerf a bit. Here's hoping it happens sooner rather than later.

BL dps was scaled to luclin HP levels, and shy of that they're OP with vanilla values compared to older classes. The same is true for berserker epic and skills which were nerfed down to something resembling normal for the period we're in.

Almost everyone is doing more dps that they could for this content originally, that's part of what makes it the small group progression server.

I'd like to see how BL dps stacks up with Mage dps right now.

Oh I completely understand that it was scaled for Luclin, but I also think the pets themselves should probably scale themselves just like Berserkers do. Even if its entirely based off how far your account is flagged.

if (flag = vanilla) scaling = 40%
if (flag = kunark) scaling = 60%
if (flag = velious) scaling = 80%
if (flag = luclin) scaling = 100%

Perhaps i'm just picky, but its silly to see a pets damage being really close to the same for almost 20 levels

But yeah, I posted on their forum as well in that BST proc thread dext made a long time ago

What's the environment here for someone thinking about just starting it? Also, what's a good way to get the client these days without giving my PC hypersuperaids? I'm feeling a little nostalgia after trying the new DAOC server but that's turning into a giant clusterfuck already.

torrent UF and titanium. copy over unique files from titanium to UF, edit the eqhosts file and eqgame shortcut, download their custom files from forum, play. for maximum win enable velious textures in your eqclient.ini and use old models.

oh and you have to make accounts at eqemulator.org or something. to actually log in.

I didn't get any gems last night, passed on em for him but yeah, definitely going to horde what I find.
Did we decide what faction were focusing on or anything? I assumed thurg since loot is too good to pass on dragons.

---

can you customize a cowl of mortality with dwarfs? I assumed it as only from the dragons.. Years of being misinformed, damn hah

---

Edit: Oh yeah, I totally got the 55 druid pet off velk, double bear pets is $$$$$$$$$$$$$

Faction is an easier grind on this server. I have been farming HoT armor (Dragon Faction) with my 3 box crew. I am Ally both Coldain and CoV. With AC being fairly broken, I see no reason whatsoever to bother with Giant faction. West Wing (Giant Faction) armor will have higher AC but lower stats vs East Wing (HoT). NToV is what we should be raiding, but will screw your dragon faction. Again, easily fixed with a session in Kael bashing giants.

Armor Gems have been fairly easy to come across with exception of the BP Gems. IIRC, these drop from named primarily (in Velks, SG, and DN).
