Yup, I tried the controller in PoE 2 and got hooked on it. Controller on LE is no problem at all.

When you get to the high end of this game, it becomes D3. You end up basically blasting shit mindlessly to try to get gooder versions of your current gear with more +++power.
That said there's a lot better systems here for loot and targetting loot, but really that's what this game comes down to. So if you like following a guide and filling out the piece by piece juicing it can be fun, but beyond that there's REALLY not a lot of depth. And currently looks like giga DPS < giga defense at the high end which makes for kind shitty gameplay of you standing still and hoping your cheaptrick defense lets you survive countless slams and blasts while you whittle bosses down.
Visual clarity in this game is also pretty much dogshit for every build outside of melee.
That said, in D3 spirit, it's fun for a week or so then you get to wait 6 months to a year for a new patch to see if they freshen anything up.

one button sentinel on gamepad with spiny hammers that procs smite is just relaxing to play.

Yes but not entirely anymore. Now with the Weaver stuff there's a map in there that lets you shatter set items to get set shards out, then you can use the set shards to craft the special mod from the item+set bonus on a generic rare/exalted, so you can basically build your own set item that doesn't suck dicks. If the stat that comes on the item is also not good and you only want the set bonus, you can attempt to seal the stat(at tier1 it's basically guaranteed to seal). That doesn't make the shit sets good, but you can use 2 or 3 pieces of certain sets to boost power a fair bit. Notably Void Knight can make good use of their set because it gives a ton of void penetration, the primalist set is also quite good if you're stacking strength(but the chest conflicts with a lot of good uniques so 2pc might be what you stick to) and I guess there's others.

Pretty much, yes. Their solution was to allow you to shatter them for shards that can be used to upgrade exalts like usual. The shards have two (always the same ones) of the stats from the item and it makes the item you put it on count towards the set bonus.
I still see very few builds using it though. The Forgotten Knight set is about the only exception there. The set bonus is so good that Time Rot builds will even equip the set items themselves while waiting for exalts good enough to slap the shards onto.

Yes. IMO they should boost them a bit, boost the set bonuses by a lot, and allow crafting on them. They’re all just so bad.

I did log in to check out the graphics but didn’t really read updates. I’ll likely play this again sometime this season but I’m in the midst of some other games right now. Ridiculous amount of games and content patches for games releasing this month. No time for all of it.

April has been lit. V Rising and No Rest For the Wicked both have huge updates before the end of the month. I don't often see a glut of updates on games I play, this may be the best month EVER for Slaanesh69 gaming.
If a new PoE1 league got pushed on April 30 I would just splooge myself into a coma.

This month has been insane for me too. I posted this in the general game thread. And I even forgot to include BG3 patch. Out of all these you should try Erenshor, everyone on this board should give it a shot imo, it’s such a crazy EQ homage that just works.

Hey, they released Erenshor - it has been on my wishlist since I watched Splattercatgaming do a video on it. Will def check it out on the next sale (lol). I have Mad Empire on my list too.

Not sure how far into the campaign I am, just got out of the Solarium (?) place with the big sword fire guys. Level 50'ish. Pretty sure I have the gimpiest Warlock skeleton / golem / mage build possible, but it doesn't really seem to matter. Most of my gear I haven't touched since like level 12 also. Kind of waiting until the end game runs to really care or "optiimize" anything. Nice seeing all the changes since Beta and the spots that are still familiar from years ago.
