I hate supporting right now. One of two things happens:

A) Person locks Vayne or Tristana, constantly tries to fight early, gets dumpstered, and is useless.

or

B) Person locks Graves despite the other team having Sion/Sejuani. Gets fed early(on the other team's Vayne), then can't do dick all in team fights because Graves cannot kill a tank even if you give him 6 items, all the buffs, and all four elixirs at once.

Somehow, both of these outcomes are my fault, as the support. Now, I've second roled support for two years, so I get how this works. But when people lock Vayne last pick into a shitty lane matchup it makes my brain hurt, and when they lock a non-tankbuster ADC against three tanks I just want to dodge and play solitaire instead. It's as if all ADCs suddenly have "I'm against Darius" disease, where they conceptually understand that even if he outfarms them by 30 CS if you don't feed him any kills in 15 minutes he'll be Darius and therefore be useless, yet they still fight him all the fucking time. I cannot count the number of times I have been sitting in lane, babysitting my Gold IV Vayne teammate, and I see him tumble aggressively toward a Lucian or Graves and a single tear rolls out the corner of my eye like I'm that Indian and someone just littered.

R League is terrible and I should not play it.
That's why I pretty much only play Sona for support. I need the poke and the heals to deal with unpredictable teammates. I'd love to branch out my support game but being stuck into a particular playstyle scares me.

Looks good but Riot won't make $10B+ unless they were able to roll it out on all champs/skins simultaneously.
ATM it's just lucian base skin & Lee sin dragon skin.
Won't be much different than if they just released a new skin, except this should be quicker and will probably be sprinkled in between skin releases.

If this proves to be a major success (it will) they'll be pumping out these kits faster than the texture updates and in batches.

Why they hadn't already done this for Zac I'll never know. He should have like a dozen 520 skins already so people can be pink Zac or whatever.

I'm guessing they're testing it on more average champs BECAUSE it's that obvious for Zac, and also because Zac is a different beast for these really.

In before they want to sell Zac "skins" for 975 still.

BUBBLEGUM ZAC, TOTALLY NOT A RECOLOR.

I have had more 9-2-25 games where I smash the game and we lose in the last three days than I have all season. Sometimes it just doesn't matter what you do.

Don't worry, I'm sure you made dozens and dozens of mistakes large and small that contributed towards your loss.

You know what all those losses have in common? You.

Yes, I get the schpiel. But when I have 300 stacks at 16 minutes and the Sion opposite me has the exact same score and my team is down 11 kills, there's not a lot I can do. When I'm Lee and I'm 8-3 at 20 minutes and our team is surrendering, there's not a lot I can do. There's always things to improve on, but sometimes every lane just loses, no matter what you do. Or your ADC and mid clump up against a Wukong and die 45 minutes in despite us having ward coverage. Shit happens.

I'm the first one to acknowledge when I have a bad game but I played four very good ones in a row tonight and only won one.

It is not a spiel. You made dozens of mistakes large and small that are more important to identify and correct than it is to complain about how bad you teammates are.

The only thing all of your losses have in common is you.

That is a generic mindset that can serve you well if you are not self-critical. I already am. If you are already focused on improvement and you do make an effort after every game or even after every play to try and determine whether your course of action was optimal then it's just a platitude. My mentality when I'm stacking up as Nasus has nothing whatsoever to do with how the other four people play. My self-reflection during a 9-2-25 Zac game where I basically drug my team kicking and screaming to the brink of victory only to have our two carries stack up at their inhibitor line despite ward coverage and pings and get Wukong'd at 45 minutes and allow them to end the game doesn't mean dick. I can tell when I am playing at a high level and when I am not, and my playstyle is inherently communicative and very team oriented as a jungler. Sometimes your laners just suck. Sometimes the people that pick after you just choose champions that make winning team fights prohibitive. The Lee Sin game I picked Lee second and they locked Fiora/Fizz and the rest of my team picked Xerath and GP, leaving us with no point and click CC and two lanes(GP vs Fiora and Cho vs Xerath) where after the first back there is no conceivable kill pressure. This left us with 3 lanes that needed me to be there to do anything more than tower hug, despite me first blooding the Fiora at 3 minutes and getting the GP ahead.

So yes, it is a spiel. You control 20% of the composition. You can have a greater than 20% impact on the outcome by playing well or poorly, or by taking actions that put your teammates in position to succeed, but ultimately I can't make them pick a good composition and I can't make them play to the strengths of the composition they ultimately selected. Unless you are a mechanical god and you can simply outplay everyone at your ELO you have to depend on your teammates. I am not so I do. If I'm outpacing my opposing jungler despite his team having a much higher overall killscore in both overall kills and contribution percentage then I am not the problem. I literally give my first blue to the mid on Lee 99% of the time because I always clear red side and gank first at 3:10. You can only tee the ball up for people, you can't make them hit it.

Ultimately the objective is improvement, but sometimes the outcome is 100% out of your hands. That's just an undeniable truth of the genre.

Gilgamel, what is your solo queue rank currently and where do you think you ought to be?

I think he's in the Gold/Plat range and thinks that he belongs right where he is, at least that's what I've observed from his posting.

Dude just needs a bro to put a hand on his shoulder and give him a beer and listen to his war stories. Some games are unsavable, sometimes you get unlucky. People just need a place to bitch about it. No need for everyone to kick the guy when he's down.

Yeah, I give no shits about my rank this early in the season, and I don't even care about specific losses. It's just annoying when you know you play well over a consistent period of time and the results don't show that. The mentality of "We lost, golly I must have been at fault, what can I do better" is useful, especially if you're one of those idiots who thinks he deserves to be way higher than he is after 300 games in a season, but it's also not remotely accurate with regards to this sort of competitive game. It's disingenuous to pretend otherwise. You, generally speaking, will not make massive 10-15% jumps in a short time period with regards to your skill level. When you make the more modest jumps(let's say 3%) the inherent variance within the game itself is often enough to give you a feedback loop that may not accurately reflect whether tweaks you make to your play are optimal or non-optimal.

For example, I was a Zac main for two seasons, with over a 60% winrate in a ton of games despite him being non-meta and generally considered to be underpowered. Then this season I started 0 and 4 with him, and I had(and still have) an 80% winrate on Sej and it felt to me that the other tank junglers(Gragas, Sion, even Voli to some extent) were just stronger. So I didn't play him for an extended period. Then the guy I duo with suggested I go back to him when Sej was banned and, despite me feeling from the small sample size earlier in the season that he was weak, I did. I've had roughly the same success with him as I've had with Sej now, not because he's as strong but because I know the champion inside and out and because he is clearly stronger now than he was relatively the past two seasons. The problem with this is that it leaves Sion up, and if our ADC doesn't pick a tank buster Sion can carry the game on his own. Now, this is my favorite part of LOL and why I still play it. Tweaking my own personal tier list, coming up with ways to get 3% more wins by adjusting my priorities, working around my team's comps and my buddy's eclectic champion pool(Varus, Quinn, GP, Singed, lane Evelynn, Urgot, Lulu). That's what is fun to me.

So yeah, when I get the 14th gold IV Vayne to lane with and she thinks she can fight the Graves on the other team at level 3 in a minion wave, I will get exasperated and come post a rant here. Hopefully some of them are entertaining or other people enjoy trying to figure out the little optimizations like I do. If not, I'm pretty sure there's an ignore feature. I consider it roughly analogous to trading war stories from raiding a decade and a half ago, which is basically what this fucking forum was founded on. If we're not here to vent/bitch/discuss the game then what is the purpose of the thread?
