I'd kill for 70 ping on NA. I'm just lucky I live like 2 hrs away from the LAN servers. It sucks adjusting from the ping difference, but it is very telling with how you see these "pros" pull off the plays they do while living in a 15 min drive from NA's servers. What state are you from Penalty? I am guessing around mid east area?

Something tells me he was a lot more abusive then just saying dick in chat to get a 3 day ban...It was most likely counting past reports as well because there is no way saying "dick" gives you a 3 day ban.
It's possible, but he says he's never even had a chat restriction before, and I know for a fact in that game he didn't do anything else(unless dancing on the fountain as the game ends is somehow toxic). I personally tend to try and be funny when things go badly so I'm just waiting for it to blow up in my face somehow too. I may refrain from cursing entirely as I bet those count as trigger words for the system. Would suck badly to lose a 5 year old account for typing "well fuck a duck" after something stupid happens.

Punishments always have been and probably will continue to be from accumulated issues. And verbal reports 99.999% of the time will lead to chat restrictions first. Which meant he probably did something else over multiple games previous to this.

The report cards and feedback are nice but they really are sending the wrong information in a lot of cases because of this "repeated offense" thing. You get a chat log of the final straw game basically, but it doesn't show you the previous problems. Unless you do something really awful one game to justify an instant reaction. Like they keep saying, everybody has one bad game every once in a while.

I'm a jungler man, I get reported(pop up and everything) after games where I've literally not typed a word. Every Lee Sin game where I'm not 5-1 at 10 minutes I'm fully expecting the vitriol to start. I abandon lanes that get dumpstered early and that's always a recipe for a report. You either tell them calmly " you are too far behind, just do the best you can while I help the other lanes" or you ignore it, neither of which tends to go over well with the person getting shat on. Heaven help you if you suggest the mobis/talisman rush blitz getting camped by Udyr should probably buy a sightstone. I had a dude lock jungle 5th pick after I was already jungling last week, do nothing but farm jungle camps(contesting ones I was on), ignore the empty top lane entirely, then when I suggest in all chat he needs to be reported he makes up a story, I call him out on it, and I end up with a report too. There is just no recourse for your average player when dealing with the shitheads. Better to just pretend the chat window doesn't exist and communicate via pings/morse code.

Wisconsin. I used to to get 90-100 ping but within the last 4-5 months its a steady 70 ping.

Averaging 60-75% win rate at the moment playing Yi and Amumu jungle in Bronze. Finally hit Bronze 1.

Every game I have the most gold on either team, or second most and always more then the enemy jungler (and of course this holds true for levels as well). All of my lost games have one thing in common, our team had less gold than theirs. Looking back, the break even point is around 7K gold difference. I think that's how much I can carry. I can carry 7K gold worth of bad bronze players.

I believe this holds true for at least my last 35 games.

This is a reversal of fortune for me. A few weeks back I was stuck at 50% win rate in Bronze 3, and I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. The advice that helped me the most was to focus on jungle or mid, and play champions with a low difficulty rating. Doing that allowed me to bring a lot of base power to every game and focus on the big mistakes I've been making like overstaying, poor map awareness, increasing GPM, and bad decision making / stupid deaths.

Just some observations for those that are interested in crawling out of bronze.

It's very difficult to carry from top or bottom as a newer player like you said. You'd need to play some kind of hyper splitpusher like Tryndamere or Nasus and know how to do it effectively. And that's hard to do. Or you'd need to play a character like Rengar that can roam the map every minute and get a kill after level 6. Rengar takes a lot of practice to play effectively.

Plus in the current meta, you're more often playing tanks up there anyway.

But you're right, Mid/Jungle is the best way to go.

I only played 30 something ranked games last season because I hardly had time for solo play. Most of the time I played the game with 2 other people so we just normalled it up like noobs. It's funny, I think my normal MMR is in the gold area while my ranked level is bronze/silver area. I played a lazy normal game last night with a friend and I went up against a really decent Vlad. His level of play really surprised me because I was expecting bronze level play. heh.

Anyway, I easily carried out of Bronze into Silver on the backs of Amumu. He's so good in the Bronze-Gold range. All you need is good situational and map awareness. If you learn how to counter jungle you'll carry yourself all the way into gold. No one ever counter jungles in low elo. Learn to play a Shaco, Nunu or Rengar in the jungle and make the other jungle ragequit.

Hell, 8/10 times you can easily steal the other teams buff if you play certain junglers with fast clears. Its very predictable, most players start gromp. Just go in and ward the other buff and steal it.

I think if you get put into top in Bronze (where I live), you need to pick Sion or Gnar. I never feel like I'm out of the game on either of those guys. They are both really good in teamfights and can do a lot off a tp.

I'm not so sure about the "carry from jungle/mid" mindset. The essential math here is the gap between you and your opposing matchup: if everyone looking to tryhard plays mid/jungle then the competition is higher, and the gap diminishes.

I mean, if you asked someone which role is the hardest to carry from, they'd say support. However: less support mains = more games in which my team had the only support that knew what they were doing. All of the in-game advantages + the added team meta benefit of not having someone rage pre-game about "always getting fucked into support" or some other shit.

You're looking too deep.

You can carry from every spot, but I'll say mid and jungle are the easiest.

Carrying as support requires a team that takes advantage of your vision, take advantage of your roams and an adc that doesn't rage when left alone and doesn't feed when he is.

Top is easier but like I said you need to be able to shove a wave and drop to mid fast or make a play off tp.

Adc is 2nd hardest unless you snowball the lane and you need a decent support and jungler or just out class your opponent.

But you're talking about just getting a role you can get the most and learn that way. It's what Eidal did. It's just harder but at least you don't have to last hit

Winning consistently as support doesn't require anymore coordination from the team than any other role. Like I said, I think the essential math is just how badly you are outplaying the opposing support.

I think support is a harder role because it requires the most direct coordination between two players on the team. I just try and always play the same champ. That's Thresh or if he's banned Morgana. I know I'm not good at the game so I need to minimize the variance as much as possible lol.

Fawe isn't respecting the cane. Nasus too big for your passive bro. Time to roam and gank mid. * lol don't throw Nasus onto your yasuo.*

I was a support main originally for the reasons you listed. I have a 60% win rate on Sona, in fact.

The problem I kept running into was supporting for Bronze ADCs. Why is that a problem?

Because most games I'm in the ADC couldn't cs in an empty lane any better than under tower. In my last Amumu game I was peeling for an ADC that stood in range to attack in team fights, but never fired a single fucking shot in a team fight. All of that farming completely wasted.

Sure, on average the other teams adc is just as bad. That's why I go Yi and kill them. No matter how bad my ADC is, if theirs is dead, at least we have another target to soak damage in a team fight.

Pick a champ that can totally carry even as support. AP Sona can, Brand is a good one along with Annie. Fuck letting your adc getting the kill. If they suck at cs, they don't deserve the kill. Get fed, roam mid get kill/assist, go back bot facerape again. Next thing you know you have a death cap/ludens as support before your adc finished his IE. You now have burst damage with a stun that just destroys bronze/silver players. As long as you get a sight stone, fuck anyother support item. I call it Co-Bottom lane carry.

meh, just warming up! I should have played teemo but everyone wanted a tank. Bad news picking tanky into nasus, he can just free farm. Yea, I pushed it a bit too much but no matter. Loss is a loss, won next one as Diana of course. Time for winning streak!
